Theres a big swell predicted for this weekend here On the east coast. 15-20ft! No hurricane so can someone please explain what’s up? BETTY???
988 mb gale center with a huge fetch off the East Coast. This is the GFS one week out, so don't get too excited just yet. It likes to overdo things at range.
If that map verifies, the northeast is going to be blown out, save for sheltered spots that get the benders. Southeast will do well later when the swell fills in with light offshores. Hope it verifies. Stay safe but have fun!

Agreed, can post counts be found on the actual user page tho? I do like the old display of SI, but I am also enjoying the new aesthetic a bit. Either way, cheers man. Hoping we score as well
two days in a row the models haven't changed much...always a good sign. Still sitting a big low a few hundred miles off the east coast. Still, some N wind protected spots should get good if the forecast holds. Next Saturday wind map
Joe Bastardi has been saying for a couple weeks that the weather patterns over the US (and most of the world) are extremely similar to the ones that occurred at the time of the big storm that hit the East coast in March of 1962. go to Weatherbell and scroll halfway down the page to the "Saturday Summary" https://www.weatherbell.com/
"a meteorological consulting firm that provides customized weather forecasts" - I think I've seen everything now...
Anyone going out Saturday and Sunday in NJ? I'll be looking for some protected spots around Monmouth and a little south if anyone has any ideas!
