Man it has been years (maybe a decade) since I paddled out to 1st street jetty.

1. It's knee high. I have shortboarder DNA and never would go out there and try to paddle under 25 LBers to scrap for that shit.
2. That said, and even though the LBer was up and riding, that guy should get one slap for even bringing a case...

You know, there was a time when this place was great because the content was largely unregulated. We talked about kooks and tourists and the like, and we all had a good time. It didn't become the Anarchist's cookbook or anything like that. Surfers are a unique bunch. This was a place where people could talk-the-talk with each other, make stupid jokes, and banter with each other at no consequence. Like, where's yankee? I owe that guy a cold one. Good times.

I love to make a buck like the next guy, but I hope it's obvious that what has happened here is the direct result of capitalism. Mr swellinfo gets enough ad traffic (FROM US, MIND YOU) and suddenly he can bring in some more pricey advertisers. These advertisers require you to regulate the content and moderate anything that would possibly put out a negative message associated with their product, or in general, the entire sport of surfing. The result is instant shadow moderation of anything that doesn't paint a pretty picture for tourists to buy hotel rooms and spend all of their money on new cars or whatever advertisement is plastered across each page on this website. I don't know because I use adblock plus... but we won't go there.

Anyhow, I hope we do get some action out of this swell. I'd love a shot at another run of surf before the spring breakers show up. I'm still down for Jager bombs though. JAGER BOMB! Yankee let's have some Jager bombs on me with the college kids. It'll be fun. Will anyone even read this other than the moderator? Will the moderator even read it?
