After this storm they might be singing a different song. I think extending the North jettie would catch so much sand it would create land. I Didn't know the feds refused a bypass; good info
You gonna be at the inlet DP? Thinking about making an early morning trek up there Tuesday or Wednesday, depending how things shake out.
Not likely, I work those days so will stay closer to home probably. I don’t spend much time at the Inlet, only on rare occasions. Be careful out there, gonna be yuuuuge!
I made the mistake of calling some clients in Nantucket today, they said they are getting hammered and losing powah.
Stay safe out there and for the love of god don't be afraid to board ditch, it's ok, pipe surfers do it all the time. Real surfers don't think your cool for never ditching. In fact a lot of the times you are endangering people more because instead of your board only going back 12ft on a ditch. If you duck when you should have ditched, you and your board separated or not will go back 50 to 100 ft. Think with your heads not with your ego! who are you really trying to impress anyways?
We'll be getting the waves starting Sunday and thru next week. Looks a lot like the same conditions you're all talking about; lot of wind and chop. Might see some windows after it all calms down a bit.
I lost power. Just got it back. Worked all day outside in this crap. Rain/sleet/snow and a shite ton of wind by the afternoon. Work truck is like a big wind catch. Blowing all over the road on the way home. Going to head down tomorrow AM but I'm not thinking it'll be good. 25-30 mph offshores (and that's after they die down from the 50+ we got now). Tide will be right. There's a chance. But at 8-10 ft that's predicted....i don't know. That kinds of offshores.....hanging in the lip of a 10 footer....don't sound fun. It'll either be all time and i score, or complete destruction and ill just enjoy the show
South Jersey looking all time good. Let's go folks 3 days overhead offshore surf...my god..hope it can handle it
Nantasket checking in with 23' on 12 sec. and street flooding. This storm was a fierce as advertised up here.
Sloppy North - South drifty surf today. Nice day out though, cool temps and 15-20mph wind out of the N, and sunny! Played some tennis with my wife and going to enjoy the weather outside today.
