So many!!! Once I was walking home from fishing on a dirt road with woods and corn fields surrounding it. I heard this High pitched kind of meowing sound so I squatted down and listened in silence. Eventually I saw a fauns head pop up in a patch of grass under a mulberry tree. So I started doing doe calls. The effing thing walked right out to me abd started trying to nurse on me. I picked it up and took it home. Bottle fed it etc. I wanted to keep it but my parents wouldn’t let me so I took it back to where I found it. Luckily deer don’t rely on smell fur their faun and it was seen with its mom a few times after. But I’ve seen plenty of bear in the mountains and heard a few bobcats/mountain lions while backpacking and sleeping in hay fields on buddies farms. I ran into a turkey in the streets of Boston once.
in my early twenties, hungover on back deck of parents smoking a butt in the morning daylight, I saw a large fisher cat walk by me about 10' away. i never knew they existed or and was very confused; only to find out they're very aggressive animals. ive seen many coywolves around southeastern MA, one this past weekend in fact. they are hybrid coyotes/wolves. was sitting on my board waiting for sets and saw a whale blow its spout, seals pop up 15' away from me, Cape Cod.
might have been extremely poisonous. i saw one snorkeling in Caribbean and did some research...general rule of thumb is you dont want to mess with sea snakes.
Moss landing California. . .told to exit the water and that is was very sharky by cousin. Kid was eaten next week at same spot. . .I think this was around 2009
I'm a little embarrassed of this one but its funny. Surfing this morning. Big swell and gloomy out. Waters dark and murky. I'm sitting out back waiting for a set when i realize some sea grass on my board. Just one strand. So i grab it and throw it off. As I'm doing so i see something rising from the depths of the murky brown water straight at me. Nothing huge but big enough to give me a quick spook. Turns out it was more sea grass, but like a whole bundle, floating up. Scared the hell out of me. I legitimately thought something was be nibbling on my foot for a second there.
My favorite mermaid scene Pretty sure I would have been the first to follow the mermaids to my demise
