Wow, remember when I said stepoffs are a real surf community problem? The below link is disgraceful stuff! https://surfeuropemag.com/features/...rd-2018-model-review.html#fVimPzvDzkUi2025.97
I paddled all 3 days! All 3 days alone at the main break. Yea it was difficult, yea I surfed minimal waves. It took 10 streets to get 2 waves sometimes. But there is never any excuse to do stepoffs and then post the footie online! This will only get worse in the coming years! As everyone gets lazier, needs more attention and wants more without any of the work
Stepoffs are for mommied over privileged babies unless you're surfing a wave that can't be paddled into like shipsterns bluff.
Is there any wave in the lower 48 which 'has' to be towed into? Cortes Bank I guess if we include crazy offshore stuff...
Ghost trees and that's it. Lots of people paddle cortes Lots of slabs need jetskis and XXXL waves. However, notice how they use a tow rope! If you don't need a rope you don't need a ski
I thought jet skis were banned in Monterrey marine area now so not even Ghost Trees. I mean maybe you 'need' them but you can't have them.
Meh... that doesn't bother me. But I am glad it annoys the hell out of you; I can picture your jugulars throbbing every time you think of it. Sooner or later...POP!!....burst vessel and then stroking out. Get the picture?? So relax man, it really isn't that important. If they want to step off, who cares..?
OC was not user friendly. Was much more fun up north a bit. This next system looks like it could be a barrel fest though.
Instead of staying home and surfing these winter storms I ventured out and did a good old fashioned trip up and down the NC coast surfing some stand out spots from Kure Beach all the way to Corolla. After seeing some pics I think home got about as good as anywhere (except one OBX sandbar I came across) so maybe I didn't make the right call but it sure was fun. I took pics at most spots I checked out, here are some of the better ones....
A couple years back when they pumped sand at the very end that place got REALLY good for a couple months, kinda like a left point, but now it's gone back to being a fun novelty wave on occasion. Quiet spot though.
Dude that big gus retreat picture is crazy. That's wild. Waves looked fun too! Its always fun exploring. As long as you got good waves, i call it a score. Good on you man

Yeah, I haven't been there in 2 years. It was decent last time but I mostly go to Surf City when there's a bump.
