Despite the conversation Apartheid triggers, South Africa went from a first world nation where cutting edge medical and scientific breakthroughs took place to rolling blackouts, inflation, and likely a civil war.

It always fascinates me that Apartheid = so bad and racist, but people were moving there in droves. Sound familiar?

When that place goes down, people will be more receptive to the wall much like people in the U.S. were more for control over the black population here after the Haitian slave revolt. There used to be a lot of French there and anti-slave societies in the south (fun fact: Moreso than in the north). They even have a statue commemorating the completion of the killing off of the French. I hear they are doing quite well over there.

Years ago, when the blacks (under Robert Mugabe) overran Zimbabwe, formerly Rhodesia, they killed all the white farmers, raped their kids, then ate them. ABC, NBC, CBS did not put that on the news; they did not want to offend their brethren here . BBC did. And that is why we know about it.
But, England had a historical reason. When the country was called Rhodesia, there were gold mines, diamond mines, etc.. The miners were all blacks--they were forced to mine at gunpoint. Many refused, many were murdered. Cecil Rhodes was the British General that ran the country for the Empire. He instructed the mines were to be productive at all costs. Therefore the bloodshed back then, and recently. And of course, after whom do you think the "Rhodes Scholarship" at Oxford is named?? Why, after Cecil, of course!! IMHO, anybody that accepts that blood-money scholarship condones the murder based on racial lines...such as Bill Clinton, etc.
At least South Africa voted to screw the Afrikaners (Dutch descendants, not british).

is South Africa on the right track with their policies with regards to the Afrikaners? My understanding is they aren't differentiating between the whites (sorry, British descendants). Unlike many, you have exhibited knowledge on the subject.

The fears of Nelson Mandela are coming to fruition. Were I an Afrikaner, or a British colonialist, I would leave. And soon. There will be nothing left for them; no reason to stay.
So far, all the non-blacks are lucky they aren't hanging from trees, suspended on meat hooks or piano wires, as was Mussolini after WW2 in Italy.

 

In Zimbabwe they just gave the land back to the white farmers.
So essencially they are like dairy cows being milked.

Yes I did read something about that, but that happened only after Mugabe left. Zimbabwe remains in turmoil, politically. The present Deputy President is also responsible for atrocities against the farmers. Having said that, many of the original white farmers are long dead, killed, not by those who worked for them, but by bands of traveling killers listening to Mugabe's orders. And your characterization of them of cows is 100% appropriate, and once the elections are over end of this year, and the farms begin to produce, they will be eliminated again, I suspect.
