It's actually pretty funny. I mentioned it in a post a few weeks ago. Feels like things are different. Not so strict. Things feel normal. Obviously i didn't know Austin was out. But now that i know, its pretty shocking how big of a difference that one guy made. Much better without him. I don't exactly understand what a mod does, but things have been good around here. So keep it up. And give seldom his stuff back. With out seeing seldom seen i get confused and forget its him.

So why are all the Simod aviators pictures of death or something of such?

Could you please explain? Is this really necessary?

Personally I find this highly offensive and racist, I thought this was a surf forume, not a death forume or something evil.

I mean... the nicest guy on the forume that happens to have a puppy for aviator gets banned (apparently aka permanently deleted)?!?

 

I don't think anyone has forgotten that simods #4 and #5 were just as anxious and heavy-handed as Austin. Those guys were quick to pull the trigger, and the objects of their derision were so obvious that it was painful.

The only difference is that they are no longer goose-stepping to his directives because he got his peepee slapped.

I've never been part of any forum where the lead administrator:

1) communicated so freely and openly to the forum he was responsible for,

2) posted pictures of what he looked like,

3) created huge faux pas by posting things of an extremely sensitive nature, including an ongoing divorce and his incredibly personal feelings on such, and

4) the most unwieldy use of power I've ever witnessed in any forum.

He must've been a very slick talker, or Carbon Media must've done an extremely poor job of checking his background. A certifiable Wack Job.

Most likely a stereotypical "Dungeons and Dragons" type.

Went through entire thread, seems like the biggest issue is the number of members using multiple troll accounts. Can't blame the admins for banning the troll accounts, and hats off for admin identifying the accounts and giving them the opportunity to retain one single account.

Surprised that erBB still has political threads and that political leanings are obviously poisoning all the other threads. In comparison, our little site has largely gotten away from that petty crap because the members started policing themselves a bit better. Scary that SwellInfo has been leading this charge many months ahead of its larger and more popular bastard cousin.

I distinctly remember when the SI mods were in full Fascist mode, and I made the comment that erBB was just as bad, if not worse, than our site. One of the SImods responded (lol) that his personal experience was that erBB was nowhere near as aggressive as SI. What a total crock of crap lol as anyone can plainly see.

And yes- I agree with LaPiedra that it seems like swellinfo has taken a turn... for a while it was just garbage- now it seems to be turning back to more original- BUT not as funny and not as many contributors and not as many good surf conversations...

 

All this crap about bans/deletions/multiple users, etc is so very boring, useless, and a total waste of time.

Time to move on to surfing topics??
