Hey man, agreed. I’ve started to cut against that stuff. I assume if you have an issue with something like this, you’re a little younger and fluent with the whole social media scene .either way, I can identify with how youre feeling to what you’re saying. I don’t follow them closely however, simply because I have the pleasure of seeing these guys when I travel, or even the talent that is near my home break. For the fellas bashing for using the word “ follow “ to a literal or obsessive extent I’m not sure that is what this lad truly meant by the word... For example, I’ll do my best to humor my peers as always. During the morning routine to the Lou, it’s nothing to go through and watch these ‘ stories ‘ and see posts, follow links to new videos being dropped, before you know it you’re sapped into, and justifying to yourself that buying Surfline premium is totally worth it... It’s only a tap of the finger, as humans, convienence is awesome to us. Easily turns a simple use of the john into a full on event, aside ridding yourself from whatever microwaveable radioactive salt discs most refer to as TV dinners you may have consumed the night before... Now, humor aside what i can share it my perception on most likely the same exact images you have seen. To me, I’m so happy and stoked to see guys I surf with and grew up with getting features, and promotion from Surfline and yaddah yaddah... but what is off to me, or kind of like wierd is when I do watch these stories and postings most of these kids hang in groups and they are all like videoing each other on their phones at the same time and it’s like watching the same video 30 times from a slightly skewed angle. Sometimes it seems like it’s a ‘ try too hard’ or unnatural vibe I catch from some crowds like they’re all dancing around each other with their phones out recording each other and producing ultimately, poor content. In the end, I now pick up my paper back of The Surfers Journal ( highly recommend ) when I use the John. since I personally enjoy the connectedness of our generation, I think I’ll strive to do things my own way, and put my own spin on it.. I think all those gents are great guys, funny, well spirited, and a good time. Whether it’s documented or undocumented I think surfing should be, if anything - Organic.
Yeah, I didn’t even think to look at it like that. I’d also advise this mans advise. I’d like to say I’m original and smart enough. But I think the second part is crucial, looks like it’s time to maybe consider unfollowing some of the people you subscribe to and looking up something new. Follow some Brazilian strippers, or like some athlete from Fiji. The mad Huey’s always have great stuff
I haven't dabbled in the booger sugar for many moons, but i suppose doctor's orders are doctor's orders... thx for the advise
I think in order to get bored with something, you've had to overindulge. I treat it like everything else in my life... live in moderation, look for things that inspire you, ignore the things that don't, and keep things in perspective.
We could throw some prebiotics in there too, toss out those GMO’s. I hear they help with making the elderly feel young again.... you know, surfing that is.
If it wasn't for business promotion I wouldn't have any social media. I probably wouldn't have a phone either, I hate all of it. Although I do watch me some Ben Gravy every morning, lol.
