I have seen guys use duct tape but I wouldnt try it . I am a Suncure fan I have had some realy good results with it . With any board repair the repair is only as good and the Prep work and sanding. Poor prep and the repaire wont hold . Poor sanding and it will look like poop.

put a sticker on top of it or duct tape. DO NOT FILL THE HOLE WITH WAXX!!!! it makes dealing with a small ding much more like dealing with a pain in the ass ding. If you use suncure use it only temporarily, suncure is actually somewhat porous and will allow water in.

duct tape works or if you are afraid of that you could use packaging tape

Never use duct tape. Slice a bit off a surf sticker and carefuly apply it so no air bubbles are under it, and you are golden.

Use another board. It's one morning that isn't even good. Unless you're somewhere other than the mid-atlantic, I didn't check. Not worth water-logging your board.

Never use duct tape as a ding repair. Duct tape doesn’t keep water out. In fact, it will do worse by allowing water in and holds it in the dinged area. A decal is a better option if you are trying to make it water tight.

I see what your saying....But, I use waterproof duct tape.
It saved me plenty of sessions.

Residue isn't an issue either....there is plenty of safe solvents to remove that.

waterproof duct tape? Where did you get this?

I use aluminum tape. It's used a lot in the hvac industry. It doesn't have the strings in it that duct tape has (which is why duct tape normally lets water in.

There's gaps between the strings that bond to the board but the area where the string is doesn't. At least that's what I've noticed while using it in the past.

Yeah but if the Ding is really exposing the foam depending on the solvent it can eat the foam

If you don't care what the fix looks like and want a quick fix, you can get a stick of epoxy putty from home depot for a few bucks. Fills the ding, sets up even underwater and is hard as a rock. You'll just have a white patch on your board. Great for traveling too.

just about all duct tape it not water proof and leaves a really hard to get off sticky residue on your board. I own a ding repair business and when i see a board with duct tape i just sense a pain in the ass. haha

Yeah....that's why it's called duct tape. Obviously made for duct work and not board repair. But, there IS waterproof duct tape out there and it works GREAT! It can leave residue that is tough to get off when you leave it on for a while. Duct tape for me is only a quick fix for that day. Then it comes off the end of the day no problem at all....sometimes without any residue at all. I don't see what all the fuss is about. The residue from duct tape comes off a hell of a lot easier than residue from a trackion pad.
