Got so smoked in MoCo tonight. It was pretty big and meaty when I first checked it by 5:30. Switched around to a few spots and finally got out by 6.

Solid OH 5-7-8’ swell. Legit saw a 12 foot face come through. Detonated right on some guy on the inside. He was never seen again. I myself almost had a two wave hold down. No bueno.

Just couldn’t find my grind. It was big and peaky, not lined up and howling off shore. Anyways it was good to get out and be in some heavy soup, but I’m looking forward to tomorrow.

    Yewww

dawned it this am in moco. nice quality head plus set waves, good shape with offshores, Water was nice and cold with the added wind factor keeping the line up pretty empty. Felt more like mid Feb than Mid April

Yesterday afternoon Delmarva...by 3 p.m. the wind was straight offshore and south windswell lines were pumping. Head high on sets, and the sun was out. Super fun session...rode my Ashton 6'4" egg, which i love on larger lined up waves. The board paddles in well, and holds a line in bigger surf with the thumb tail. I got a couple of real mackers which made my day. got out exhausted after two hours of constant padding and shot these around 5:30. These are both medium sized inside waves that had more shape. The outside takeoff area was a good bit larger, but when i grabbed the camera no one was in position for one of the bombs, and the ones who were were being choosy. FUN afternoon!

I was saying to myself yesterday that this HAD to be pumping in north Jerz. These big south wind swells kind of sweep past Delaware the way the coast is tucked in. You can just see the lines heading northward knowing somewhere more exposed is getting the brunt of it. And it wasnt small in Delaware by anymeans....solid 5-6 foot with a few bigger sets.

Very spot-dependent... from what I'm hearing. I know up by me it was really good... around head high sets and super clean. Not too much wind on it early the further north you went.

Some really peaky ones last night with a bit of size. It kept getting better as it was getting dark. This morning was really fun till it got a bit too deep. Couple tubes in the morning never hurts.

    What a treat yesterday was...

I expected it to be beat down by the strong offshores that blew allllll daaaayy. Loaded up the fish in the morning, but when I got off work and checked it at a spot close by, I was surprised to see it was firing!

Ran home, grabbed the shortboart (jumped into my wetsuite in a warm house instead of a cold parking lot... yay!) and bolted back to the beach. Nobody out and there were still some sets pumping through. Mostly in the chest high range, but... and I really don't care if you don't believe me... but the sets were jacking over the sandbar making perfect overhead peaks that doubled over into some big open tubes. I couldn't believe there was nobody out for a mile in either direction, and it was one after another until the tide filled in a bit too much. But as I said in another post yesterday... very tide and spot dependent yesterday around here... a lot of sand had moved around over the past couple of days, making for some unusual spots breaking unusually well.

Another nooner sesh off Dam Neck during work yesterday. Only two of us out there. Waist high at most but lots of paddling. Good workout. Breezy offshores but water warming up - almost 50. Looking forward to shedding gloves and hood.
Looks almost flat out there today.

Wow, so I finally, finally and finally (!!!!!) got out into decent surf without a cold, bronchitis or flu!! Ten weeks!! Shoulder high, offshore winds (bit strong), long boarded it and had a bunch of great waves, one particular left, long wall just kept on forming.
    Now, time for coffee.........

Glad this swell provided the goods for you all. I missed this swell but got to enjoy some birthday snowboarding. Conditions were really good for this time of the year. Had a nice powder day and some fun spring conditions the other days. Wildcat Mountain 2.jpg Wildcat Mountain.jpg

Yep. Yet another place I'm banned from forever. I had an "incident" there back in the late 80s that required a visit by the Pa State Policia. Although I'm sure they've taken my photo down by now...

This is getting off topic but... as a teenager we were drinking beer in the parking lot. Security caught us; took our case of beer and said next time buy better beer lol.
