Only Drew is exceptionally far from a kook and is a very good human being. Humble yourself.

Did he start surfing when he played for the chargers? I loved him when he, LT, and gates were doing their thing

Barry gets triggered by young guys sarfing wat better than him... you guys should all refrain from posting good surfers so Barry can have his safe space.

Completely agree on the pulley system. We are going to need at least a V8, preferably a corvette motor or the true pinnacle of all things redneck, a POWERSTROKE DIESEL.

Wow that's crazy, i didn't know he surfed. I love the guy, but he needs to hit the lip occasionally and stop dodging the barrel so much.

Dude if you're gonna go there you might as well make it a combination tractor pull/sarfing machine.

Souped up tractors competing to see who can pull the sled the fastest, making the biggest mechanical wave while guys on Ron Jon pop outs carve Carolina Cutbacks in front of their old ladies on the beach throwing back shots of Gentleman Jack whilst sporting their Stars-n-Bars bikinis.

    Yeah. Send it for Bubba

That’s a good idea... then I don’t have to pay for the pulling system. Grills, beers, and just sending it while trying to dodge the fishing lines and top water frogs being scurried across the wave. All with the smell of diesel and chicken shit in the air.

I've said for a long time surf contests should require each competitor to ride a variety of boards in a single comp... shortboard, longboard, fish or single fin, finless. The "best surfer" would be based on a composite score.

I'm gonna have ol' Ron Jon himself shape me a custom popout specifically made for sarfing hog waste lagoons.

Haha Ron Jon is unfortunately the first thing that pops into my head that I associate with EC surfing. Kinda more Florida than anything else.

"Wave Riding Vehicles" is actually the board I associate most with the EC but I didn't want to piss anyone off lol

    Huh?? Who doesn't surf anymore??

You are correct on both accounts.
It is why EC boards suck, and surf shops here suck. it's the EC, for crying out loud!! Armpit of surfing destinations. (except Belmar, of course...)

You ever notice how the best surfers are borne from the crappiest surf on the planet?

But I think that the perfect canvas can take surfing to the next level, much like pools did for skating.

I saw a taste of it on that video, where that kid ripped the lip into a reverse and continued down the line fins first for at least 10-20 yards before he whipped it back around under the lip and proceeds to get shacked off his nut.

Pretty hard to do, even if it's Malibu, Rincon Point or Skeleton Bay. At La Machine, it's gonna be old news.

Let's stick with Ron Jon for the sarfing, no need to bring wrv into this LOL

There are plenty of good/decent shapers on the east coast... unfortunately there isn’t the market that there is in Cali, Australia, Hawaii etc... so if you’re good on the east coast you go work on the west coast or you get by being unknown. Even people like Bird surfboards or Aristotle make good fun boards... just no real marketing or community for them to be “world class”

Yeah I had the chance to meet Scott Busbey and check out his shapes, also was impressed by the Austin shapes so I know that there's a lot of semi-underground talent locally.

Being a left coast guy pre-internet left me with limited access to what was going on out there. Every once in a while we'd get some article on Pete Pan, Pat Mulhern or Matt Kechele.

You guys get a lot more recognition now than 40 years ago lol
