You must be talking about solar because the the only fusion happening in this solar system is on the sun.

For now. They are getting very close to a working reactor.

Not a fan of wind turbines either. They are, sorry to introduce this, the birth babies of the leftist political government institutions throughout the world. So many better alternatives, but nope, we run mindlessly headlong into huge, ugly, low output monsters.
Solar is an example of something much better, if for no other reason than that it really is "nuclear energy" remotely harvested. It needs work for sure, but just ask Musk to do it. He will, and in short order as well.

Or AI will unlock the secret to making wind and/or solar energy cheap and efficient enough to ultimately replace fossil fuels

Taylor Wilson was 14 when he built a nuclear fusion reactor in his parents' garage. Now 19, he returns to the TED stage to present a new take on an old topic: fission. Wilson, who has won backing to create a company to realize his vision, explains why he's so excited about his innovative design for small modular fission reactors -- and why it could be the next big step in solving the global energy crisis.

Yeah. Kids like that don't usually continue to the next level and socially transition well.
