lol...the rippers will have chlorine and pool filter company stickers on their boards and be sponsored.
CBS Sports will broadcast the World Surf League's Founders' Cup competition this Saturday, May 5, at 2 p.m. ET, on CBS. Joe Turpel and Chris Cote are about to hit the bigtime....
I'm guessing very few people from lemoore bought tickets to that...few people in that little town are can afford 100 bucks for a few hrs of "entertainment". Maybe some rich farmer's kids from out of town, but most of that audience isn't local. anyway, the surfing in this contest is a little disappointing. I expected pros to be hucking their best/highest airs all over that wave, or at least more skatey maneuvers.
Overall the contest was very boring with a few very brief moments of brilliant surfing. Filipe's one 10 was incredible. Other than that B O R I N G !!!!!!! You could take that whole contest and make one 4 minute edit and that's all you'd need to see. No need to watch the contest.
Had this thought last night. Super boring, they should of switched up the equipment for each heat. Heat 1on HP stuff like we saw. Heat 2 on alternative shapes. Fish/mini sims type stuff. Heat 3 single fins. Finals.... roll the dice, it'll be one of the categories ridden in the contest. Just an example. Still would of been boring. But if the wave don't change, maybe changing equipment with give it some variety
Two things i heard cracked me up during the contest. Not sure who said them.... They repeatedly referred to offshore winds. I knew what they meant, but it sounded funny in a wave pool 100 miles from a shore. They said a couple times "will he go on this one?" that wave requires ZERO effort to paddle in, so i kind of got it....on some waves, it really looked like they were thinking of not going, like the next wave of the set might be better!

Seemed like contest was rigged. Third round Parko got like a 5.67 for a ride that was easily a 6-7. This forced the tie with World. World wins surf off, eliminated Aussies, and go on to win the contest. No doubt all teams shredded, but like I said a 5.67 score on Parkos third left was complete BS. So f&%K whoever was Judging trying to make things come down to the wire.
