    Got tix to the premiere in downtown WPB. Gonna be a tough watch, but I grew up wanting to shred like Andy. RIP Brudder

    I think I’m just gonna go to the Lord Huron show tonight and buy the Andy movie when it comes out.

    Just got back from seeing the movie. Very well done. Highly recommended for those who didn’t get to see it tonight. I will buy it on BlueRay when it comes out.

    Saw it yesterday with a couple friends. It was a good quality production. Both an interesting and sad look into to Andy’s life. The surfing in it was good stuff.

    Was never a fan of AI. I'll admit I was a KS fanboy. The movie really provided a look inside the dark side of pro surfing. Pretty toxic environment for anyone with addiction issues. Things seem cleaner these days. Perhaps the death of AI was a bit of a wake up call for pro surfing to clean up its act.

    i was curious about that. i didn't see any showings near me, may have missed it. but i wasn't really interested until you said there was some quality surfing footage

    Yeah they mixed in a lot of surfing footage. That dude was incredible in the water. Truly gifted, and an animal of an athlete.

    I'd like to think so, but I seriously doubt it. I think there's still a "party hard" ethos among our subculture... which can run away with you and get out of hand quickly. Between that and the "celebrity" of being a pro surfer... I just don't think there will be any big cultural shift anytime soon.
