i dont really mind the shoobs, they help keep the beach towns in service.they need that tourist revenue.go to any beach in the winter, its a desolute wasteland lol,go there 3 weeks from now and u cant even find a spot to park
Luckily I'll be gone this memorial day. I'll be a tourist myself. Bachelor party in new orleans. Actually it's a joint bachelor/bachelorette party. We got all the same friends so it made sense. Anyway I'll be a tourist till Wednesday eating gator, drinking alot of tequila, and trying to find a spot that will teach me how to wrestle a gator.
Cep... Growing up in CM, I used to say, "In the summer you can't find a parking spot. In the winter you can't find a car." It's a more year-round town now, but we used to play street hockey on just about every road in town in winter.
That's a fair point, my taxes are a lot cheaper than shithole towns up north, like where I'm from in Bergen County. Where I can't park on the side of the street because there's never available parking because too many people live up there. And it's way congested up there year round. At least I'm down here, it's nice, the taxes are low by this state's standards.
Since I don't work this time of year, other than about a 10 day span in mid-July, I just kind of stay here. I take some trips in the summer and make some day trips down to Cape May, where my mom stays in the summer. Yeah, I would stress avoiding the Parkway south on Friday nights and Parkway north on Sunday nights from May-September. I'm just a bicycle ride from the beach, which is pretty suite. We'll usually walk the boardwalk in Seaside once or twice a week, same with Point Pleasant. Just because we like walking. I'll do the bike path from Manasquan to Allaire Village once a week/every other week in the summer when I have off. I have a wave runner that me neighbor lets me put in their boat slip. I haven't even gotten around to getting that ready for the summer yet. So I don't have to worry about leaving town too much, but I usually do a little bit. I also ride my bike (motorcycle) sometimes. Take it for a spin in the evening. I really like just cruising up ocean ave, through Spring Lake, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Avon. Especially at night, it's pretty relaxing. Route 35 down into Ocean County, through Point Beach, Bay Head, Mantoloking, Lavallette, Ortley, Seaside, is also a nice ride for a quick one.
Agreed, and that used to be my primary commuting vehicle year-round, until I became responsible for daycare drop off and pick up. I will concede it's still possible and I disregarded it as an option for way too long by procrastinating getting a bike trailer and figuring out the safest routes to make that viable. Thanks for calling me out... I'm working from home today and I think I'm actually going to pick my daughter up from daycare via bike... works out well since it's literally the last day to do a trial run before tourist season officially starts.
Gee, I'm glad you approve. Interesting that you just skim my blabbering, but always seem to be around my blabbering. That's it, you're banned from my blabberings for thirty days. Hold on let me do it properly. Me: Rob... Rob Kelly: Yeah...? Me: Bass Mon said he just skims thru, or through, your blabbering. Rob: Well, thanks for telling me. I will ban him. Me: Thank you, Rob Kelly. That was a hell of a barrel you got two winters ago. Rob Kelly smiles triumphantly. The barrier islands of New Jersey belong to him.
There was quite a bit of trash on the beach this morning,i hate to say its the tourons but its the first time ive seen anything like that this year ,if they would only pick up their trash when they leave. I should start a collection of torn up boogie boards and broken beach chairs
I don't know what this thread is all about, but I'm going to cut all you kooks off this weekend. When I call out my wave, you better get the fuck out of my way or else you're going to have fin marks down your back. If you try to start something, I'm going to drive your car off a cliff. Yeah, I know you all hide your keys under the bumper. Cats out of the bag and you're all fucked.
When I sarfed yesterday I deliberately picked a peak away from the only two other guys out. Had it alone for over an hour, before same said guys get out and paddle over right next to me. I kid you not, 5 feet from me. Then I get a, “ Hey Dude!!! Saw you catching some lefts over here.” (I blame the Simmons for looking so fun.) And a, “is that a quad bro?”. Meanwhile both guys are on hp potato chips hardly standing up. One of them is literally paddling hanging off the back one third of the borte, with it all up in the air. Summer is in the air.
