it's summer. when it's flat and warm weather, what activity keeps you active and engaged at the beach that you enjoy almost as much as surfing. thinking I need invest in a new hobby at the lake atlantic. go
For me I like to fish when it’s flat. I can’t sit still very long if I’m not surfing or fishing. I don’t sit on the beach doing nothing very often.
what do you use and what do you catch and when? fishing is on my to do list. want to check out spear fishing too cause that gets you in the water moving around
snorkel ing and a few other ing's. I have too many interests and not enough time. It's either waters or woods. I can't tolerate the Jersey shore summers anymore. Completely different animal than what you have up your way. I know, I've lived there. From my experience you have to have beer, bud and boat.

My crew has been known to paddle out with a mug of coffee and hang out on our boards behind the “line up”, wait for manatees to swim under us while we play poker with waterproof cards and generally cut up with laughter and wit.
very nice. ran into an old roommate of mine of mine a few years back - a guy who was one of the best surfers I ever knew, could switch-stance and surf flawlessly either way - told me he no longer chases every little swell that comes along, but cat sails instead. he took me out on an otherwise flat day to catch rolling swells a couple hundred yards offshore and we had a blast cat surfing.
Yup, we used to do that.....in the late 60's when Hobie first started making the cats.....in PRs warm waters. It was one of the reasons I got into sailing up here and raced them sailboats for 15 years; then I got sick of it.
