Dammit I need those blocks for a retaining wall I'm building. Think those guys will work for less than minimum wage lol
I have a lot of friends there that own businesses catering to all sorts of people. Most of them have temporarily closed, mostly because there are no tourists. This is because people are scrrrd obviously. That being said, only some of my friends have actually left. Most of my surfer friends there are really pumped bc the lineups are empty and the waves are firing. They need tourism $ to keep the economy afloat. What camp are you going to? My buddies family who owns Playgrounds Surf Camp said that there have been no access problems, the coasts are safe and lots of waves are going unridden. If you are a competent and aware person, you should go. I have been going down there for more than a decade and I lived there a while back as well, I have tickets for September that I plan to keep. Lets just hope that someone either kills Ortega soon or that they are able to overthrow him through the church. If nothing changes in the next few months, the people of the country will take a serious step back in time, and they cannot afford that. Go! they need your money!
I didn't know it was beyond the populace organizing against the proposed decrease in pensions. This is bad news indeed. It'll get worse before it gets better. I don't see Ortega giving up peacefully. This could very well turn into another CentroAmerica civil war. The people won't be unarmed and peaceful very much longer without concessions. Tread lightly, mucho cuidado

Socialism works out great everywhere it's tried! Nica is a great example..lol. Now you know why we supported the Contras in the 80s....they would probably be much better off like Costa Rica with a stable, less socialist government over the past 40 years...
