What do you ride when its small?

just custom order a board from any shaper with dimensions that you feel comfortable with. I'm 5'6" and just ordered a 5'3" Wynn (real good shaper out of jersey) 18 1/8 wide and 2 for the thickness. It's still gonna be shaped like a regular shortboard but a little wider and with a swallow tail. You could call any shaper and tell them to make you something that looks and rides like the lost rocket, but is a little fatter. (I prefer thinner boards.)

 

Posted pics of this board a while back in another thread, but this is my small wave board. Dims are 5'6" x 20 x 2 9/16 if i remember corectly off the top of my head. Can be ridden as quad or single fin (mostly keep it quad, just wanted to experiement with the single) Single concave to Vee out the tail, with a thick foil throughout. This board is insanely fast, turns on a dime and paddles great. The more i get to take this baord out the more i like it, makes those waist high and under days really fun.

all depends on the mood, ive taken the bisquit and fish out on punchy head high stuff very fun

 

Wynn makes some really nice boards. I cant wait til I can put my next order in with him

 

yeah head sure does!!! i just strated riding for him... best desicion of my life at this point haha. they are real tough

 

The board I posted a pic of earlier was not shaped by wynn, but it was glassed by him. I can not believe how durable this thing is, I think it is impossible to ding, such an amazing glass job.

 

anything smaller than chest its a longboard!! save the fishes and shortboards for the larger stuff... no use "attempting" to rip in thigh-high ****.

 

i just had brian shape me a 5'9 shortboard. its 18 1/4 2 1/8 swallow tail... done with resinx with lokbox's... also had him order me a set of lbx7 foiled by marlin101. sexy board i cant wait to surf it. great guy deffinitly recommend him to anyone

 

how do you boys feel about the CI Dumpster Diver in eps, or the Stretch Magnet as a small wave board?
