I've surfed at night a few times, nothing like that of course, but in New Smyrna, Cocoa Beach, and in the Gulf. It's a bad idea honestly, but I had fun.

    Total moron lol.

We called each other lunatics for surfing the full moon on shrooms. Did a few night dives. Yikes! Lot's of stuff out there all shadowy and lurking. Got older and wiser and stay out of the ocean at night nowadays. Fear is a sign of intelligence, as my wife likes to say.

OK, that's way better. Everyone knows sharks don't like beer.

Might be the same, will have to check on the map. No longer recall the name, but the place was just south of Portland, if memory correctly serves, with formidable DOH.

Nope, close, but wrong spot. Roughly 60mi south from Canon Beach, but explains the similarity.

    Have fun this weekend.

    And
    1. Did you survive?
    2. How was the surf?
    3. Precisely, where did you lodge?
    4. What else did you do?
    5. Did any of you meet your future brides?
    6. Any photos?

That's funny - I bet I've been to that beach too. I had decided to take my 2 friends to a beach that I'd been to before. I was trying to figure out where it was online...I saw the picture of the rock sticking out of the water and thought, "that has to be it." So we took off, only to discover we were headed to Canon Beach which was like an hour farther north.

We survived. It was awesome. Lots of decent ish waves - A lot of them didn't have a lot of power and tended to crash on themselves. We stayed at Kure Beach and spent many hours in the ocean sans sunscreen and caught a lot of waves. Epic weekend.

    Great. Glad all had fun.

Possibly on the rock, while there are quite a few nooks and crannies around there...
Odd they gave so many the very same name; no small wonder people become confused. Learned the one I saw is the fourth tallest of its kind in the world. Didn't know that, while there. Just read there is a waterfall which empties into the surf in that general locale. Didn't know that, nor a few other things, either.
