    Chincoteague pics

Ive surfed there often. What a change!! Never seen the parking lot so deep in sand. I can't imagine what the south point looks like. I wonder if the sandbars have radically changed. Thanks so very much for the pics.

    Chincoteague photos

Chincoteague has really changed. Some shoveling to be done. I surfed there a few weeks ago. solo and two fishermen. I surfed the semi point break near the 'hole'. walked out on the sandbar and looked back at the beach. Long lefts. Should really go off on a good north. The ocean cut a huge hole in the beach almost to the forest. Nice sandbar setups. Its my favorite place. Lets see how they arrane themselves over the winter. yeah!

I surf at Chincoteague a handful of times a year. I just went there a couple days ago to look around, which was the first time since the big November NorEaster. It looks like the water rushed clean through to the bay on the backside.

There are piles and mounds of sand everywhere......are they going to be able to smooth all that out by spring/summer?

Has anyone been surfing there since the storm....What has this done to the sandbars? Are they closer to shore, more hollow/mushy, etc?

i sware every set of pictures that talks about beaches being destroyed has to have one lonely rubber tire in it somewhere

I hope they decide to shovel out the sand. They do it every year anyway. Its a matter of pushing the sand back toward the beach to create a dune or barrier for the parking lot. I cant wait to see how the sandbars setup this spring and into summer. Lots of debris on the beach including some tires.
