it is a campaign slogan that won him the White House and his base loved it. but, to your question...I guess we could start with illegal immigration and bad trade deals. Don't you think those two things would make America better?
How much of a problem do you find illegal immigration to be? With unemployment below 4%, can't say they are taking our jobs. Never been a believer in the "illegals" scare tactic. This country always has and always will profit from undocumented labor. Bad trade deals, there is a good amount of truth here. I would say an improvement in corporate ethics and responsibility would be a great place to start. The only plight of capitalism is when a society becomes fraudulent to itself (i.e. Americans ripping of Americans to get ahead). This has become a major problem since the mid 80's imo.
We know it is his slogan and his based loved it, but what does it imply? I believe that was the question...
What it implied was the genius of it. it made people feel like at some point things were better and now "they" want to see things "get better again". Perception...like hope and change, wins votes. Politicians are great at this...
so you think we should have open boarders? Corporate Governance and Ethics is an issue. Why since the 80s...curious on what you think triggered it?
I'm pretty sure Trump stole it from Reagan, like a lot of his ideas and policies. Many people feel that was one of the better times in our Country.
It was pretty good, was hoping for bigger surf to see how it handle but stayed chest high the whole time.
I don't disagree with you on it being a good slogan. I just think it really only works on the sheeple. It also opens the door to thinking fondly on eras in the US that might not have been great for everyone. Just my 2 cents. He def stole it from Reagan. Original ideas are not the strong suit of the Trump brand.
Whoa, that is quite a leap to make Jay. Just because I don't think immigration is the downfall of our society then I must be for wide open borders? We need borders and we need to enforce them; however, you're not going to convince me that illegal immigration is even the the top 5 problems in this country right now. A lot of it started when computers entered the financial district. HFT's, dark pools, and insane bonus structures, have all out paced regulations and the tax payer has always paid the price. When corporations can't control themselves, the taxpayer tends to suffer or the employees of that company that loses everything. There are endless cases of this in our history and it has surged in the modern era. I just think 10,000 employees losing their life savings and taxpayers having to bail companies out hurts us more than some other "hyper publicized" issues.
Successful people usually copy off other successful people. Nothing wrong with it. I didn’t vote for him because of a slogan though, if anybody does that they are very shallow. The policies is what matters. Slogans are just marketing.
Def not a liberal. In fact, one of the things that I like about Trump is how he is pushing these morons more to the left. Bring on the 3rd parties!!!
