Stay safe down there boys and girls. Seriously, if anyone on here gets displaced by this storm and your willing to drive up to PA/NJ, my door is open to you.

Is that your wife in the avatar? I might need a place to crash this weekend even though I have no hurricane coming my way.

I'm thinking this weekend or early next week. Whenever we get the winds below 10 after tomorrow. I'm in the work doghouse tomorrow.

If desperate, we could always do Wooden jetty.

That high pressure has really held up and seems to be steering it somewhere between Myrtle and Wilmington...the storm is strong as shiz! They are still predicting it stAlls out. By this time tomorrow we will know more better...it’s about to get real for a lot of folks!!!!

My brother left with his family yesterday morning and drove north to the DC area. We're staying put. Schools here remain closed until further notice.
With storm prep concerns and work matters, paddling out hasn't been one of my priorities this week. Also have 86 year old Mom in nearby memory center to consider. They called me yesterday about their evacuation plans.
Even with "mandatory" evacuation in coastal high risk areas, including Navy's Dam Neck base, I haven't seen much change to the usual local traffic patterns...with the exception of around Home Depots and WalMarts.
But forecasts now have path of Flo hooking south a bit

Supposed to head down for Easterns this weekend. Not looking good for the contest. Between people's rentals being cancelled, people travelling and the forecast for terrible winds even after the storm moves inland I'm not feeling very optimistic.

“More and more of the operational runs of the models are locking on to this left hook just before/into/just after landfall.

The 0z EPS run implies widespread/numerous peak gusts up to around 100 MPH along the S.C. coastline during the 120 hours ending 0z Sep 17.

If that verifies (which is entirely plausible) that would be pretty bad (as in potentially life-threatening), say nothing of the seemingly never-ending surge and rain. “

“The 0z euro runs are into Savannah, GA this morning after a ride along the coast south from Wilmington, NC. But the other models don't go as far south, GFS rides to Myrtle Beach before going inland. FV3 GFS goes in just north of Charleston, SC after the coast ride from Wilmington. CMC just takes it slowly into North Carolina. 6Z FV3 shifted a bit further north, closer to Murrel's inlet SC after riding down from WIlmington, NC.

0Z HWRF Rides from Wilmington to Myrtle Beach cat 4/3. And the 0z HMON Takes it into Wilmington, then slowly inland from there.

The ensembles (as shown in the post above) take the ride, but differ on how far south it gets. (most in SC, a few in Georgia, but only one has far south as Central Florida) Just shows there is *still* a lot of uncertainty.

This is probably making folks in Georgia and southern South Carolina a bit nervous, just watch closely, the NHC didn't change the track much at 5AM. “

Flo being a real sea hag for us Carolinians

I have so many friends and family in NC/SC it's going to be hard to even care about surfing tomorrow or Friday. Like yall said this is looking pretty bad with the southward hook. It could even maintain intensity if it meanders off the coast. The surge is going to be hell on earth. And I'm reading it's undergoing another eyewall replacement cycle meaning possibly a larger windfield by landfall.

^^^ Wow, I was surprised to see this Shredman asshole posting in a non-political thread until I saw the video. We are discussing a storm that could affect the lives of millions and cause catastrophic damage and uproot people's lives and here you are putting political shit in here. Keep your weird, perverted obsession with Trump on the Trump thread.

Schiffman can't help himself...the MSM guides him like clockwork. MSM creates a narrative and like a pawn, he appears to exploit it.

Chavez is right, keep it on the pol thread.

Anywho, the storm surge predictions on this thing is crazy. Over 10'. does anyone remember what the storm surge was for Sandy?
