RIP Wes

    My dog Wes passed away in his sleep last night. He was 12. He was my buddy and I'll miss him. Long may you run Wes, I love you buddy.

    My condolences CyC, sounds like he went peacefully which is the best you can ask for when that time comes. My little buddy Bentley is about to turn 17 next month and I am afraid that time is coming sooner than later for him as well. He has been my best bud throughout most of my adult life, it will be hard to deal with losing him but I know he has lived a full life and has been spoiled as much as one can be.

    CyC, sorry for your loss. Been there a few times (lost my aviator ~12 years ago), and similar to akaPm, my pup is getting up there, so just trying not to think about that dreaded day and enjoy her company while I have her. Wish I could say something helpful, but only know that I have felt similar to your pain and sadness.

    SammyDog is 18 and like one of our children. Everyday is a memory and cherished.

    Dogs are Life itself, so amazing & wonderful, and when they leave us, they take a chunk of our soul. Just heartrending.

    Very sorry for your loss, Chavey.

    Chavez I'm so sorry for your loss brother. I'm sure you gave him an amazing life. Just remember how hard it would be for Wes if you went first, doesn't take the sting out, but may help with processing losing him.

    There is no greater companion and no better friend than our pets. I had to put down my 16 year old dog just two months ago. Truly one of the worst days of my life. Sorry for you loss.

    Thanks for the well wishes boys. I love you guys. If there is a Creator behind all this he made two mistakes. Making humans with the ability to think and reason and not letting dogs live forever.

    Sorry for your loss Chavez. My wife and I have cats and we've had to say good bye to a few over the years and it never gets easier. The bonds we can establish with animals is often stronger than those we have with humans because of the total innocence and honesty of that relationship. No ulterior motives or head games. When they tell you they love you, you know they mean it.
