I just passed my pre-licensing education final exam and am now ready to take the state license exam, which is scheduled for Thursday, this coming week. I can run through the practice exam simulator as many times as I want till then to stay sharp. Can’t wait to start, this is looking more and more appealing to me every day. Kinda wish I had done this earlier. But everything happens for a reason.
Living vicariously through you Bro’ Another group of potential buyers walking around here today... All I can hear is that Tick tock like Captain Hook
It it happens it may be the best thing to happen to you! Are you looking for something else before that day comes or are you gonna ride it out like I did?
When I finally retire from my current jobs, I'm thinking about starting up my own company. I've got it narrowed down to two options. The first is start a Repo Company. I always wanted to be a Repo man. Second, start an online porn business. Either way, my company will be called Los Locos Hombres. You guys are more than welcome to apply once it takes off.
I’m sorta feeling around but issue is everyone is looking to pay peanuts for a position that’s NOT a monkey job. And I’m 47 with a ton of experience and feathers in my cap so some companies are seeing me as two people for 3/4 of one on payroll And I’m not going to start at zero again “proving myself” - spent my entire adult life doing that and getting a hot steamy pile of shizz at the end of it most times. Good part of that is the experience can’t be taken away I guess. I may have to start over somewhere in a new industry all together which makes me nervous. The one thing that’s driving me now though is bills to pay, family to take care of so I’m gonna keep working until I find some nirvana or get a pink slip.
Ever thought about starting your own company and charging what you are worth? With that kind of experience I’m sure you could do it.
I actually have, but I’m in a tough spot to start out on my own with a family and bigazz monthly nut - and I’m lacking a big piece of that puzzle: funds to start it. Ironically, that’s exactly what I may have to do though, so I guess I’ll take what comes and make it work. There is a possibility If the building sells but they keep it as a rental property, I may well keep the existing business name and set up. There would be a built in automatic clientel and I’ve been managing the entire service portion for the last 2.5 yrs as well as being the head tech/mechanic. Also the only mechanic lol. And we service over 220 boats, so I could step into it pretty easily. Just makes me nervous. But as you have already reminded me - things often happen for a good reason so we will see!
I get the risk factors, but sounds like if the stars aligned you could have a pretty easy transition. Based on your explanation I would go for it.
