who here has been surfing this week?

Thank you. I wasn't surfing so had nothing to say. Yesterday was like nothing ever happened, so typical, fat lady on the beach as i am about to paddle out yelling at me "there's no waves!" Then next up 5 minutes in before i even catch a wave beach-replenishment security screaming and threatening me, 20 minutes later having to get out and talk to a cop.
Same old boring shitheads who are mad that they can't surf.
But i still had some fun waves.

 

Nothing against you at all. but if you and family are healthy i wouldn't complain, yet i too am trying not to complain since getting sick, when i have always been the king of complainers!

 

I know Brother, I was playing a little self hate game and trying to highlight it... there I was whining about no waves and not being able to surf when you were going through THAT and not being able to.

 

You don’t have to be surfing to have something to say here, if that were the case, half of this forum would never post lol I kid I kid.

 

Beach replenishment WHO? No offense to them but what in the name of Odens cat are you gonna do to mess up some beach sand... WHEN YOUR FRIKKEN SURFING??

Got myself down there at around 8am - two hours after high ... I was thinking high tide was after 9. Duhhhhhh. Anyway, get there, it’s pretty clean and offshore mellow with what looked like thigh high - but not one surfer. And I swear, I get out of my truck, take a breath and watch as the waves started turning into these long white capped close outs. And got smaller. 20 minutes later even worse Hahahaha
So I jumped back in the truck and watched for a while and it was cool - cause now I know I’m 45minutes away from a really nice beach break that IS super user friendly. Headed to do some checkin and driving locally now - wavestrom is right and it’s just mind set I need to change.’
I’ll tell you though, Miss B has been asking about you and she’d have been stoked to hear we surfed.
We got all set to put together a weekend and have you and your bride come up - the ladies would gaggle and you could finally surf some tasty Nantasket fall

If a Newport strike mission becomes a possibility, we should try and coordinate a Swellie conflagration with Kanman, NYNJ, Manik...
That would be epic - or horrible hahahahahaha

 

Surfed RI this morning. Started some windy drizzle, then heavy rain then finally cleared up around 10. Wind was aggressive but some nice clean waves here and there. Surfed until I was done instead of until I had to go do something else which was nice.

Hood and no boots would have been the move with the wind but my hood was at home.

 

It was blowing 25-30 perfectly cross at Nantasket and swell was 45deg angle left - would have been a sick day for lefts but the wind had it shredded. Went to Daley/wanzer and checked out Allerton - sheltered and it wasn’t bad and I suited up and caught a few on Mini but 3/2 shortsleeved wasn’t good in that breeze either

 

BTW, where were you at 8am that there was no one out? People are out from dawn to dusk at 2nd Beach if there are waves and there were today. Certainly were all morning today.

 

It was supposedly First Beach? There was a snack shack that I parked by.
Eastons beach? And I didn’t see anybody in the water - tide was pretty low so I figured out my screw up on tide time. How many beaches are there/surf spots
In that area? The guy I surf with sometimes actually texted me when I was doing local checking and mentioned 1st beach and I told him I’d been already and he laughed and gave me crap about driving down there for nothing

 

i got in with a couple peeps by the pier on friday evening. semi chop but rideable thi hi. brought in the LB but had to take off the leash since my swollen ankle won't vanish after two weeks now. chased my board for the most part, guess i don't have too good of a grip like my shorter boards. but it was a fun session for what it was, we were glad to get sumtin especially at the end of the work week. cold front in, not sure how i'll approach my next surf sess whether it be seal suite or rashie

 

I was wakeboarding in the back bay one time. After a couple runs I was getting tired, let the boat know I was dropping the line. As I slowly sunk into the water, I quickly realized I was in f'n jellyfish orgy, F'd me up!

VB was on point and this am at dawn. Solid head high and clean, and a couple feet overhead on the standout sets. Crowd where I was surfing was awesome for VB, taking turns as opposed to the usual free for all. Awesome time and best waves I have scored at home in a couple of years

 

Thanks. It helps feelin the SI love. My doctor called to say i am all good. Several doctors and radiologists studied and discussed my scans so the sarcoma is gone for now and i pray forever. No more treatment, no more surgery, just get back to ordinary life, this lifetime of surfing enjoyment. Pure stoke.
