I need to get there. Sitting around and just watching sets roll in knowing that tomorrow it will still be firing, is sick. Props for the Swissies!

^ hahaha... every session I've had the last month in VB has been the 2 hours before and after low tide and even to-a-days if the tides are right...I will surf till my arms are about to fall out of there sockets cuz its only over knee high once a week. Back home no worries don't have to do marathon sessions cuz it'll be there tomorrow and the day after just as glassy, hollow, and empty... I love places like that

Damn, it's been almost 9 years... Time FLYS when you're having fun! Anyway...very happy with my decision to move to SD. Lived all over; Clairemont, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Ocean Beach, North Mission Beach & South Mission Beach. I lucked out last year found an affordable 1/1 apartment WITH parking across the street from the ocean in south mission (Favorite spot thus far) & surf literally every day. Mostly alone.

I've been at the same company the whole time (with an 8 month hiatus to work at a casino). Looks like I'm bailing and going to start my own thing. I've always had this dream of running my own creative agency, looks like it's gonna happen. I don't want to jinx myself, I'm still going through vendor approval process.. but. BUT, if I get this I'll be looking at a complete lifestyle change... Yankee/NJShredMachine Money ;)

I'll update you guys if it actually comes to fruition. In the meantime, go donate a few bucks to the guys fighting the fires in LA

*If any of you degenerates ever visit diego, hit me up. I've got extra boards and always down to surf

Just read every page in this here tread. Amped for you Scobes. Pulled the trigger and just did it. Not a lot of people can say they've done something like that.

I really see myself out west at some point. I have family on the east coast and a great job, which has made it hard for me to leave. Jersey has been a great spot for me over the last five years, but I know I have a yearning for something else. Something different. Since my dad just moved to FL, that'll give me the opportunity to explore the south some more.

I honestly like San Diego the best out of everywhere I've ever visited and my girl does too. I miss it every time I go. Now I just need to find out when my time is right. Time is till on my side, but that clock is ticking every day....

As I mentioned in Toonces' "What would you do" thread, my son caught the surfing bug while living in VB. (All four of our kids were born in CA)
After graduating from ODU last year, he moved to TX to work on his Masters. He missed the ocean...he missed surfing.
Recently, my son attended a conference in San Diego and got a chance to surf during some free time. He loved San Diego, but he particularly enjoyed surfing there. I enjoyed San Diego during my time in the Navy. Used to windsurf on Mission Bay.
He'll be getting his Masters next month and has two job offers...one in LA/Long Beach and the other in Seattle. Decisions, decisions. Had one of the places been San Diego, the decision would be easy.

Kanman, when the yearning for something different becomes a gravitational pull you’ll know when the time is right and the location is right. I went through it relocating from the Tampa Bay Area to Melbourne. It was something I HAD to do, nothing was going to stop me. Nobody was going to deter me, it was going to happen because it was on my mind at all times until it became a reality. When your dream consumes you, that’s when you know it’s the right thing to do, in my humble opinion.
