Agreed. It’ll happen when the time is right. When I got Bentley it was automatic. We bonded immediately. No way I was going home without him!
Not sure if you caught the tattoo of the dog paw on my chest when we surfed this past summer, but that was a pup I had to let go. F’d me up for a while, they are family!!
I was bummed to see this thread today. I'm sorry for your loss DP, it is not an easy thing to go through. He looked like a very good boy, stay strong bruhder!
My condolences DP. But i give you alot of props man. I dealt with a similar situation. Well my dad did really, i was a kid. But one of our dogs... blind, pissing herself, seizures, all that. Put her to sleep but i do remember it going on to long. Hard to let go, dog just suffered more. Sp good on you for thinking of the dog first. Also, i think that's really cool how you did it. Never heard of a traveling vet for putting a dog to sleep. Big ups to you, that dog was lucky to have you
Thanks bro, the mobile vet was actually less expensive than the regular vet believe it or not, and it’s a much better experience for the dog and the owners.
some of the worst days of our lives.its never easy they become part of the family.my last shepherd bear died a month after hurricane sandy.part of the reason we didn't evacuate,he was on his way out leading up to the storm and he was a big dog not the kind u would want to bring to a shelter with other people.was a terrible time
Hey man so sorry to hear about Bentley Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal
Sorry bud, totally sucks. It's been 2 months since I let my best friend of 15 years go, and I'm all f"d up over it. I teared up in shoprite last night walking past the pet food aisle, and I'm in tears now, as I type. This sht is hard, and I hope you're able to be at peace with your loss asap. Likewise to anyone else here who has dealt with losing your best friend.
Thanks dude, I really appreciate it. Very sorry to hear of your loss as well. It’s not easy at all, but I talk to him every day and tell him I miss him, as weird as that may sound to some.
jizwhale I don't know who you are but you are a good man. Dudes, I lost my cat Juniper in June. I wasn't on here so I didn't post a eulogy. But I found a box with her collars, bells, and a rasta hat last weekend...glad I was alone because I immediately lost it, teared up like a child, had to let it run it's course. I still think I'm hearing her come up the stairs occasionally. She was 15 years old, passed away at home, and caught a chipmunk a week before her departure, so as much as it stings, she lived well. Olde shoppe from metard..
