Nah. CR. The locals say that the core rainy season is really like aug-oct so it should be good waves, light crowds and not horrible rain.
Totally see how it happens. I was out there when a guy drowned at Wildo a few years back (never saw any news on it either) and I've been checked pretty good at pumping Wildo a couple times. Most recently went over the falls at Domes - it wasnt massive but big enough to remind me you have to be on your game out there. I know to never panic but its a different type of power out there man.
17 days... Hoping to get one more point sesh somewhere before wheels up. This weekend looks promising but windy.
What you should be practicing is having a bunch of Puerto Ricans dropping in on you from all angles lol Get ready, cause it's gonna happen!
It usually isn't too bad if you hit it at sunrise, the local crew usually shows up later. When 2nd shift shows up, it's a full on zoo typically. I try to get mine in before that happens that way i'm already satisfied. Maybe hit it again before sunset, which is also a zoo but not as bad as mid day.
That's the truth. I'm out the door while everybody's still asleep, in the dark. Meet everyone back at the homestead for breakfast.
all true....and you are expected to immediately kick out if one of them shows interest in the wave while down the line out in front of you. Mainly on the weekends, when the spots fill up. I learned that the hard way more than once.
I’ll certainly play by the rules and take some bs - not gonna be hard because I’m not gonna be running and gunning with dudes on the choicest waves. I’m there to score time on clean swells and warm water. That being said however, I won’t put up with getting shat on too much beyond intro phase - I’ll either find another spot or remedy the issue there. Respect is one thing, being treated like a wounded duck is quite another. I’m not too worried about it though cause I can usually get along pretty well with people no matter what.
