Nope, just using better alternate ways to keep population down. The other alternative is equivalent to abortion. War.
Struggle with it too. It's so politicized, which I also don't get. I grew up in an era when women couldn't get abortions, and the horror stories of the back-alley clinics, coat hangar abortions & worse are real. I don't claim to have solutions. Deliberately haven't put myself in that position of having to make that 'choice' with a woman because I always felt that it was something that would plague my thoughts the remainder of my days. Not judging; just damn determined that such a decision would never be mine to make. But when there's women out there using abortion as birth control....da fukkkkk....that's worse than the so-called animal kingdom of which we humans supposedly lord over.
my personal position comes down to viability. If the thing can survive outside of mom than not abortion. If it cant then it is acceptable.
Forget late term abortions. Parents should have the option to abort up to the age of 20. If you determine that your spawn is going to useless drain on society you should have to abort. Imagine telling you 18 year old "you better get your sh!t together in the next 2 years or it's a wrap"
Ha Ha yeah that’s funny when I was younger I remember my Father saying “abortion should be retroactive til the age of 21” I was about 23 at the time so I thought it was funny, my younger sister, not so much!
My point was that this isnt a problem that maybe $8/month and a little responsibility cant solve. I see birth control as no different than insulin or other life or death medication. Take the GD pill or someone may die. Imagine if the Dr gave you a prescription and said your heart will explode unless you take this cheap ass prescription once a day? I bet no one (except crack/meth heads) would dare skip a dose. Hell - you can even double down on a skipped dose of birth control the day after. So simple in my mind.
"A little responsibility" doesn't even make it to most people's lists, Smitty And abortion is just one of the many, many results
No one would argue against you on that Smith. But what about when people aren't responsible? That is the crux. What to do when people aren't responsible? Allow them to procreate when they can even manage their own lives? Have tax dollars pay for their offspring in the system? There is no good answer it seems.
