I guess you could say your quiver should reflect who you are as a surfer... not who you were. Seeing out-of-shape old dudes sinking up their armpits and not catching waves is more pathetic than seeing young, fit guys having fun on a twinny. You know they could be ripping on a shortboard, but choose to ride something "inferior."

To eats their one, I guess...

Too many shapes that work way better, imho, in the waves they are touted for.
I suppose I got used to gunny-like boards growing up in PR, and they work everywhere as well.
    just opinion.

For once, i think i agree with you when it comes to boards barry. Of course iv never owned a fish. Caught a few waves on some. Always wanted to really give one a go and put it through its paces. But knowing they are generally meant for better waves....i just always go with somthing else. My quiver is solid so i'll probably add one eventually since i got all conditions covered. Than i can speak from experience. But for now, in my head the are better options in good waves

    So nice...

I've been contemplating getting a wide fish for some time. There was a Mayo that I saw in a store a few years back that was like a hybrid between a mini-sim and a retro fish. Should have taken that one home

Sweet board DP, I’ve always liked Fish , both twin keels and quads. If I still lived in Fla I definitely would have one in the quiver
580 is a great price too
    Are those keels double foiled?

Thanks JTS, I couldn’t be happier with it. Here’s a couple screen shots of the fins with specs from the True Ames website.

    Short answer is yes.

These are my preferred fins for the kind of fish I ride... goes good with the kind of bottom contours I like:

    https://www.trueames.com/products/hobie-fish-marine-plywood

These are flat-inside fins, as opposed to 50/50s, and have a little more rake and sweep, and less tip area. Still got that long base, though, and still a keel fin.
