Agree w Pump regarding the airs

If airs were part of the progression of linking maneuvers, cool. Unfortunately the air is the final & sometimes the ONLY maneuver. When it’s the only maneuver, it’s not “technical surfing” to my eyes.

    It’s Marketing101 to the teens.

If I wanted to watch skateboarding I guess I’d go to the skate park. I don’t care for it on the CT.

    One man’s humble opinion.

100%. The air's have there place, but there is to much "hunting". This is why i hate medina. Pulls crazy air's but he's got this ugly wide sink bug stance and pumps the whole wave for one big air. John John has the ability to link turns and airs smoothly and with style. But in this contest he was also hunting. Hell, everyone is doing airs. Conner was the only guy who pulled off a powerful layback in weak small surf. When things turn into an air contest i lose interest. Which is alot unfortunately.

It's the surf that really dictates it... I'm sure they'd much rather run the contest at Snapper or Kirra with a real swell, but it's not in the cards...
All these dudes can do turns, but it's tough to separate guys doing turns in sh!t waves. But you can separate quality, height, style and technicality of airs... I agree that watching power surfing on real waves is far more entertaining, but there's no opportunity for that right now

    Green hair needs 6.93

Green hair brazzo pulls ONE air on a wave, literally NO other surfing maneuvers on wave.
    Gets a 7.07

Andino gets FUKkkkkkkED by WSL crapola

It’s no wonder why athletes like Toledo and Andy Irons stormed the judging booth, looking to kick the dirty filthy asses of the asshat judges of the WSL.

    What a crock.

Actually watched quite a bit of this comp. For me, the overlapping heats format and the wide-open beachbreak with multiple peaks... plus the refractos off the rocks... made it actually watchable for the most part. Man-on-man is horribly boring to me. Putting more folks in the water at a time, and having a few different lineups made for lots of action. I like it...

The surf looked really fun, too... for at least a few of the days. Solid 5'... decent winds... a bit shifty... but still lining up.... all made it interesting. Wish I could have had a day in the water there!

I haven't paid attention in years. How's Rick Kane doing? What's Lance Burkhart's ranking?
