    Not sure what the best is, but the worst is by far the net. Swell models, cams, google earth, and many other similar net things have destroyed a ton of, if not every, local break. During one of the best swells of last year, there were 25 boats and 75 cars with plates going all the way down to the Carolinas. That is all net related.

    I remember calling the shops and if it sucked they told you it was good and if it was good they said flat.

    I still do this. When im coming back from a sesh and see a car that i know or has boards.....ill throw the thumbs up or down out the window.

    Does any real surfer really rely on forecasts? I think anyone whos diehard knows better and looks at the ocean regardless of the forecasts. So yeah more harm then good. But on the other hand when that forecast looks like crap but you know better or have a hunch and you go give it a look and it's good..... very few people out. So that's a plus
