Very cool Jamie! Heading down to Nicaragua next week. Buddy of mine is building a shipping container house, Gonna check it out, it’s almost complete. And surf.

 

The mommy van is packed, two boards on top, three more inside, driving down to Hatteras after work today. Got a week on the beach in Buxton. Just had my major hip effusion aspirated monday, and now the second attempt at my 4th comeback in 8 years, and my first time hopefully really surfing in 21 months.
Optimistic, feeing fit and ready to surf.
Pure stoke.

we've got a couple guys who had to take a back seat over the years due to injuries or illness. They adjusted their approach by choosing to ride alternative craft. I know I would. Just an opinion, which may not reflect yours.

Yeah i have a new old cripple quiver plus i still have my old shortboard quiver for if and when the comeback is complete

 

I know we'll see it likely will be way over my head at this point, but i will charge once it looks doable. Overhead hatteras barrels are out of my league at this point i just hope i can stand up and ride a wave

So 2/3 into the drive we stop for the night round about midnight, after working all day, get some rest. 300 miles down, 150 to go. KOA bought the huge, amazing rundown hotel at the bottom of the chesapeake bay bridge and really fixed it up nice! $79 a night. Already a great trip. This place is really cool.

 

Not a surf trip, but leaving for the DR with my girl and her parents on Tuesday. We are saddled up in front of a beautiful reef in Bayahibe. Just got myself a fresh pair of DaFins and some snorkeling gear. Planning to spend a good bit of time just trolling the coast and living it up.

 

Hatteras is flat-out pumping nonstop 3 days, now. With the condition of my leg and my procedure only less than a week ago, i can't handle it, but i am trying. And failing. Getting pounded. Just thought it was calming down so i could give it another shot. Immediately saw a 3 wave outside set break way the f out and peel perfectly right from the perfect peak. Wave after wave. Shit just comes out of nowhere. All of a sudden you see the set stacking up from way out in the ocean. Yesterday was ridiculous. Offshore and out of control all day. Not one taker here all day. Least of all me. It was the most beautiful awesome sight. This place is totally amazing.

 

Theres always something rideable on one side or the other of the inlet at the ride ride! Break out the LB!

Driving to Mex solo on Monday.....one month in Mainland one month in Baja!!!~! Got five boards going with me. Might score some crappy windswell in Panama City on the way. Gonna be a good summer!
