I read about that years ago, ACOE notch (cut) the jetties in N. J. to allow long shore drift of sand through the jetty to feed adjoining beaches. I always wondered what the long term affect of "notching" the jetties. ACOE Labs had completed an extensive test of Jetty design to allow directional sand transport but very few applications has been used on the East Coast.
LB, Your statement is so true, we get what they tell us because no one is paying much attention to beach replenishment. Usually after ACOE plans the project and bids it out its basically done without transparency of public input. On our coast, N.J. ranks # 1 trying to manage those projects and Florida coastline that has any sand sites left #2. The lessons learned as well as project monitoring on West Coast have not migrated to our coast line. A few of us tried for 5 years to raise awareness in our region but fell on deaf ears by stake holders and surfing community.
Those web gloves would make your fingers ache ,i had a pair by body glove in 70s wore them once, tossed em.
Square wheels, great idea that someone reinvented the wheel... did you get the bio page or the ‘about us’ link??? Is the owners name Roy S???
https://waterborneskateboards.com/ just bought the front and back kit for the trucks. Videos look fun
It looks like the adapter converts a regular truck into behaving like a Carver C7. Very interesting... Where's Emass when you need him?
Front one on a swivel ($70) but there is also another adapter for the back that looks like you can throw the tail out (106$ for both after checkout). Full ride report to come. Should be here for Saturday.
So did you get the "Surf and Rail Adapter High Performance Pack" for $98.99? I guess the extra was tax? Anyways, it looks like a cool product. I'd be interested in possibly putting it on my old school Powell and Peralta Steve Caballero with Indy Trucks and see how it plays. I don't use it any more, since I have the Taylor Knox Carver. Looking forward to your ride report.
Exactly I have a regular skateboard I use every once in a while, but I’ve got a basically brand new sector 9 Joel Tudor I’m gonna throw the new kit on.
...and, did they work? Even at an age where I no longer give a faaark, 2 things I will never use while surfing, webbed gloves or a helmet. However, I do notice the decrease in paddle efficiency when I go from my winter mitts to bare hands...
I had a pair when I was a youngster on a boogie. I can tell you that I paddled faster for 5 minutes then discovered that my lats were on fire and my arms no longer wanted to work.
