Me too, grew up a mile from the 95th St bridge made famous from The Blues Brothers( the jump in the beginning.
I remember being called a houlie for the first time, I was like"what's that", my buddy said it was Hawaiian for " wedo" lol, I caught on quick.

 

I can't help to think Sunny is bi polar, not sure about how much surfing may have had to do with his depression. I keep thinking of Robin Williams, he definitely didn't take too many waves to the head or hit the reef, but was feeling things everyone around him missed.
Really hope Sunny pulls through.

 

Surfed and chatted with Archie for a couple of hours at T-Street a few years back. He was totally cool and still surfs at a very high level. My boys didn't even know who he was and made fun of me later for being a fanboy.

 

So our Archy, is THE Archy.

I was put in a "sleeper hold" once in highschool, in the lunch line. I was out before I realized he even touched me. Woke up slumped against the counter with the lunch lady asking if I wanted chicken or steak sandwich. It felt like I had been asleep for hours but it was a second or 2 at most.

Based on that I can imagine being hanged could be painless, if done correctly.
