Entrepreneur creates 2 large companies and approx 30,000 high paying jobs in this country, so someone remind me, why are we rooting for Elon's downfall?

 

Yeah I get that a lot of people think he's Obama's boy because he got set up with a ton of taxpayer dollars to pursue his visions. I can't blame him or anyone else who jumps on free funding, as long as they use it constructively and for the purpose for which it was intended. This guy is not Solyndra. Rooting against him is a bit like rooting against Howard Hughes. Or John DeLorean lol.

Even if he "fails", his work with rockets and cars will most likely create industry standards.

The irony is, I don't believe that I've ever heard DJT ever tweet anything bad about the man or his exploits.

 

Ugh I was really hoping Trump might use him as a beacon to show how private sector outperforms the public sector (SpaceX has accomplished more in a decade than NASA in the past 30 years at a fraction of the cost).

 

Yeah, I meant more like I hoped Elon and Trump would form a bit of a relationship, they started to in the beginning but I think the Paris Accord thing made Elon leave that council Trump formed. I just think Trump and Elon would make perfect sense for Trump. With Elon he could win over the conservatives by showcasing the prowess of capitalism vs socialism and he would win over a lot of liberals with benefits to science and the environment. Just me going off on a tangent with pie in the sky thoughts though lol.

100% success. They were able to land all 3 boosters including one on a drone ship in the middle of the ocean. It is quite a sight to see those rockets landing like that. Dude is out here catching rockets with drone ships, ridiculous.
