i'll read the rest of this later as there is probably an update, but i'd say possible sprain if I were to guess after every time I swim, surf or upper body workout I have to foam roll my left back into place. whilst on back rolling that left blade/shoulder joint pop back in is getting less pleasant every time. once im through picking up little kids and putting them places im doing an mri and getting mine repaired if it doesn't totally blow out sooner. xrays are dumb. if you don't have suite health insurance skip that if you can and go right to mri. there's so much soft tissue around the joints that in my uneducated guess an xray is useless unless you have 0 mobility or a total joint separation. but even with a joint separation you'd wanna see what ligament/tendon isn't where or how it should be and you can really only see that with an mri
Man, we are 8 clicks deep in this dread and you comment on the 1st post....did you ride to your pier in a massengill motorboat?
Kanman, also think about taking Vitim A, D and calcium. You really want to help bone growth to encase those anchors and lock them in. The metal porkupine ice cream scoop in my arm is almost totally encased now. The Vitim D helps you absorb the calcium and A also helps. another also...when and I mean when you get well past your PT hanging arm circles and finger crawls up the wall, lay on your back with a roll of quarters in your hand (knuckles down) and rotate to palm down and back to knuckles. It really concentrates on the little fast twitch muscles in your shoulder. Sloooowwllly (over weeks or months) add more weight to no more than 2-3 lbs. Good luck, take your time......I"ll catch a wave in your honor and get wayy pitted and think "I'm glad I'm not Kanman right now"
Haha, catch like 20 for me. To stay stoked I’m gonna order a custom in the next month or so. That way I have a new sled awaiting for the day of my rebirth. I was wondering what kind of supplements I should invest in. That all sounds good to me. I’ll keep doing my research. Definitely taking a lot of protein to aid the muscle recovery.
Injuries suck. I'm nursing a foot injury right now (which seems to be all I get nowadays), definitely ruins the surfing confidence, but I see it as an opportunity to work on other areas and build some strength. Hang in there.
Hey Kan, what did your Doc give you for time before your able to surf again? I’m going to have a hard time only because I do a lot physically with my shoulders in my job, so its going to be a rough spot to get through. I’m going to have to take some time off totally I’d say and then nurse things along. The doctor said Id need to be very careful and let the stem cells thing work before I started beating on myself again... I’m already sweating it and I haven’t even come out of the mess from End of year yet.
Bigs, the doc is telling me 5 months before I surf. I think it’s 3 months before I can start back at the gym regularly. Sling comes off after 4 weeks. My tear was also a lot larger than most, so I’m told. He seemed optimistic that I could get back even sooner, depending on the recovery. It all varies by each person and case.
Hi boys, Havent been on site for couple weeks. My turn to face a health situation: need to lose a kidney as a tumor is growing WITHIN the encapsulated kidney. Biopsy says tumor is "low grade, non-invasive". Surgeons say "we can do something about this one, which is kidney removal". Surgery is scheduled but not for a few weeks as this will be done with robotics (DaVinci Surgery Robotics); as the hospital has only 2, waiting list is 8 weeks. Reason--lower infection rates with robotics, quicker recovery etc. So, this summer I will be taking my leave of you guys from signing in. Too busy getting ready, personally, domestically, etc. I will read a few but will not sign in until near September. Have a great summer guys. And never forget--you are all morons!! btw--we can live with one kidney. Some people even donate one to a compatible recipient. buh-bye.
Good luck Viejo. If it were me getting all that Robotics stuff, I'd ask the Doc for a cool Robot Cocque while he was in there. Go go, gadget penis!!!! Seriously dude, best wishes.
Barry, sorry to hear about tumor (glad they caught it). The DaVinci Robot is top shelf, so you should do well (even if the medicine man gets the jitters ). Nevertheless, I will still say a few prayers for you. Please do check in and let us know your progress. Be well.
You mean “we” are all morons you moron! I suspect you will be a pain in the arse patient in recovery...try to keep that in mind where Mrs. Cuda is concerned. Good luck with the Nephrectomy dude, you will be back to razz’n us in no time.
Good luck Cuda. Hope it all goes well for you. Rest up and rehab. Take your nutrition and rehab seriously. I’m sure you’ll find yourself logging in earlier than anticipated.
Wow! So happy to hear it was found early. One of my best friends had Polycystic kidney disease and was in critical need of a donor kidney. I spent a lot of sleepless nights contemplating it and decided to be tested at JHU where it was done. Throughout the process I was told I could change my mind (confidentially) and I would be unmatched, I didn't and went through the whole process. His brother was a near perfect match and ended up donating. I was amazed at how much they have medically improved. Did tons and tons of research- the kidney is a fascinating organ and you would be surprised how many people have only one. Wishing you well!!
Also not kidding about making sure your wido, I mean wife has your log in to post the yard sale deets.
