Other than during a summer sand replenishment project several years ago, I haven't gotten sick from the water in my over 6 years of year-round surfing in the VB area.

Similar to the seasonal asstards that use the beach @ AI as their toilet. They have those beach changing screen room shelters, or whatever they're named, set up & go in there & defecate in the sand. Then kick sand to cover the mess.

You can literally smell the human waste if you're downwind of these asstards - - lotta NY & NJ plates these daze at TPTSNBN, btw.

Great white appears just off Virginia Beach

    By Lee Tolliver

    Staff writer

Brunswick picked a good location to stop for a bite.

There’s plenty for a young great white shark to eat right now off Virginia Beach.

The Ocearch.org-tagged shark swam on the ocean’s surface at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, sending a ping to a satellite used by the research organization. Eight hours earlier, Brunswick pinged just off the state line, closer to shore.

The latest ping located Brunswick about 70 miles off the Oceanfront at the western-most edge of the Norfolk Canyon.

Anglers working the area have been experiencing some outstanding fishing for bigeye tuna and mahi mahi. Evidence of a large shark population in the area comes from some of the tuna being reeled to the boat with half their bodies bitten off.

Brunswick was tagged last February off the coast of Hilton Head, S.C. The still immature male was 8 feet, 9 inches long and weighed 432 pounds when captured.

The shark spent quite a bit of time Monday off Nags Head, N.C., sending several pings from the surface.

Several other Ocearch tagged sharks have sent pings to the organization over the last couple of weeks, as they make their migration to northern waters for the summer.

    *******
70 miles is "just off" the beach.
No real news here. Whitey will again be vacationing at Cape Cod this summer.

Yes. Nothing to be concerned about. Huge difference when the food supply is many miles offshore vs bathing in the shallows 10 yards offshore. Big concern is the number of adolescents, figuring out their hunting and diet, large enough to gnaw off a limb with a taste test, that will be patrolling Cape beaches in about a month.

Cannonball Run bro! I had an old sales guy used to work for me looked and acted like this dude, and whenever a hot female applied for a job, he'd offer (very insistently ) "Can I administer the company physical? I have rubber gloves right in my car!"

So damn tragic and sad. This time it hits very close to home. VB City Police HQ/precinct station was in the same city government center complex...practically next door. Had they not been that close, it very likely would've been worse.
At least 11 people who went to work this morning won't ever be going home to their families...never had a chance to say good bye.
When these terrible things happen, it reinforces that you not take any day for granted.
If you have a family depending on you, get your affairs in order. Don't put it off. You never know...

Vote Green. Go into schools and educate the middle schoolers and high schoolers on Trash and its impact on the environment. Bring back the Don’t be a LItterbug ads.

Go to the beach and educate the offenders.
