What kind of idiots invest 6.5 million on a site without a thorough engineering evaluation first. They are citing groundwater conditions. I'm assuming it probably is a combination of Florida's shitty subsurface conditions with limestone sinkholes and underwater exposed aquifers combined with the inability to stabilize a hole deep enough to accomodate the pool without collapsing soil conditions. Obviously this is all conjecture...but either way, hire a gdamn geotechnical engineer and spend 25k before you invest 6.5 million. Given the product they push out, can you really be that surprised though?
ground water (water table whatever) is not deep in south florida. emptying the wave pool for maintenance would cause it to want to float. and prolly break.
It would work better more inland with higher elevation I'm sure. I have driven around some areas surrounding Orlando, such as Clermont where there are lots of legit hills. A place like that comes to mind.
