I agree, I always enjoy seeing the pics- they really capture the stoke but also do a great job of showing the conditions instead of just someone describing it...

Scored several nice rides early. Very clean wind swell with thigh+, with an occasional waist/stomach. Must have been the T-storms that rolled through to the south. Very clean, and waves got better as tide filled in a little. Less than a hand full of guys on it. Wind was picking up and had to get to work, but it was fun while it lasted.

Sup guys. Still over here recovering. Have had the chance to get out to the beach and film a little bit, which has been nice. My buddy is picking me up in a few and I'm gonna bust out the cam and grab a couple shots.

I put together a little 2018 NJ video edit that features myself and friends. Features include mediocre surfing and kooking out. It's all in fun though and I figure while I'm injured I'll try to stack some clips for the Tube, and hopefully get the chance to record some guys that are better me.

If you're bored and want to watch a little Jersey surfing edit, check it out.

Had a decent weekend and caught some longbort stuff on Monday. Last couple of days have been ehh. So I just rode my bike a bit. Actually, both bicycle and Harley. Maybe I'll take the watercraft for a spin tomorrow.

Got out this morning for about an hour or so - holy upwelling batman! That water is f*(king COLD...cold as in my feet were going numb towards the end of the session. Did catch three good thigh high peelers that held open on my minisimms, so it was worth it I guess. Looks like we have a little swell on the way for the weekend. I'll take it where I can get it.

Thankfully no upwelling in Delaware. Water is still in that upper 60 range. Dawn patrolled this morning and from 6-8 a.m. it was a very fun waist high south wind swell on the low incoming. Long buttery rights on the 5'2" twinnie. Board felt perfect.

Fun sesh this evening. The waves were small but peeling perfect for a longboard. What really made the sesh special was a pod of dolphins hung out nearby me for about an hour (way longer than normal). The dolphins were often within 10 or 20 feet of me just chillen. Only 2 other surfers were out. Peaceful summer surf

Yesterday was fun, some solid sets esp early came thru. Mostly chest yesterday. Upwelling sucked tho. I was bareback a few days ago and had to suit up with booties yesterday. But for this time of year ill take the waves with rubber. Plenty of swell on tap for the next week, hope we get some offshores or lighter winds in the mix

what's happening? Good bunch of swell came through huh? Always good seeing the old heads getting it.

Got some of it myself yesterday. If I posted right after it would have been all caps and exclamation marks. Was buzzing big time after what was the best surfing I've done in a while.
Woke up before the birds just knowing something was brewing. High winds the night before and swellinfo hints had me thinking my primo local might be good at 1st light. Man was I wrong. Ended up fishing the inlet for a bit ( not catching) before work. Wasn't bummed because it was a nice sunrise. Headed to work without taking my gear out of my vehicle which was a stroke of good luck. Turned out I had to head to the end of my island for some fairly easy tasks. Finished up quick and hiked into a spot with the fish without looking to check it. I stepped on a snake. I hate snakes Jock. Got to the bluff and found massive waves breaking way the heck out and it was a rough sea inside. Took a bit to get past it all and find my first wave. It was a big field.

When I did I dropped in and went right over my board. One of the keels went into my knee. Ouch. Started getting good ones soon after. The big straight drops made for so much speed. Rides were long with lots of turns and wrap-arounds. The fish shined. Just flew through the flats into the next section just as it was heaving. Got one that just kept going towards shore that ended in a sucky in and out cover up and just couldn't fathom another paddle out. Walked out completely de-hydrated and sun baked. I've been having trouble at my local beach breaks lately as they've been breaking so fast and short my old ass couldn't get up and going fast enough before it was all over. Days like yesterday help me remember that I ain't half bad as this thing we love.

A tropical smoothie for the long ride home and Led Zep BBC sessions on the radio. My special lady made paella with the shrimp and squid etc. Turned into a zombie soon after. Passed out on the couch and stayed there until morning. Didn't even check the surf.
As always hoping for more. Hope yous get some more too.

Two sessions yest @ TPTSNBN. Fun stuff, waist high, lotta waves, inaugural voyage of 9'2 that replaced my old 9'2 which delaminated & is now wall hanger. Water cold, feet cold, heard others complaining & saw lots of bare feet doing the antennae-in-the-air look when paddling.

When checking waves, saw at least 10 Wavestorms & soft tops pass by on their way to water @ State. Is this a now-thing or did I just miss yet another thing that's been brewing?
Also witnessed a chica paddle out in a very string bikini & proceed to surf that cold water for awhile; jeez, talk about tougher than all the dudes.

No pics, maybe next time out.

Water this morning was considerably warmer than yesterday...back into the upper 60s was my guess. Knee high and semi-glassy, slight offshore breeze, but large patches of floating dead, small black flies. Didn't appear to be our usual biting variety...I wish they had been.
Ospreys were out getting breakfast and interesting to watch.
