Sorry to here that. Hopefully something will turn up soon. I guess you know the drill, and to stay pursuit, but still can be a bit distressing. Praying that it is a blessing in disguise and that something better is on the horizon. Hang loose.

Without any hesitation I will say that you will bounce up quickly and be better for it. Youve proven it already J, and will do it again. It’s who you are.

I appreciate the kind words. You are a good friend. I think it’s time to leave this industry and start fresh. It’s a tougher business than it use to be, the world has changed and continues to. The companies in this business are on their way down not up. It’s now obvious to me and I have accepted that fact.

Sorry to hear that my friend. It's truly tough out here. I gotta admit, it's crossed my mind to just give up living on the coast for a couple of years and take a job in the midwest, save up some $, then look at my options. But I'm scared as hell to miss the waves. Keep looking, maybe try the bigger companies instead of the start-ups. A good friend went through a similar phase bouncing between start-ups, and until finally he got a job with a larger company that gave more stability.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll keep that in mind when searching for my next job. My wife has a good job here so I hope to find one too. I may have to let go of working remote if something good doesn’t come along soon. I honestly wouldn’t mind going back into the office to work but I have gotten spoiled working from home.

Which business are you in (tougher business than it used to be)?

You may want to revert back to your previous job(temporarily). Your license should be in good standing (still...2 years).

    Good luck...

Good Luck to you...thats a rough feeling being let go...adrift in a rip tide, but you have paddled out from the rip last year and made it into the shore...so it will be this year as you have a determined attitude and a loving wife.

Substitute teach, you don't do shit, can apply to other jobs all day or do other work. Make some money while waiting for the next gig. I used to day trade in the classes all day. Easy money and nice schedule.

Just accepted a job offer to be the sales manager at a major sports complex selling all inclusive packages to coaches of teams at all levels and several sports. I will start selling by myself to get the hang of it and then build a team and manage the sales team. Base plus commission. Start tomorrow.

DP, you could prolly make a nice chunk of change by arranging Happy Ending massages & Room Service from local, ahem, entrepreneurial gals. All those sports dudes from out of town would pay top dolla to ‘top off’ their sports junkets.

Just trying to be helpful :D
