Given the current forecast ghost ship, was thinking we could have a thread where swellers could post links to the online tools they use (other than magicseaweed and surfline, as these are well known). I've seen reference to things like windy, windguru. etc. Perhaps the post could have the name of the site, link, and optional brief summary and screen shot.

I'll post an example to follow.

Weather Underground for basic weather stuff:

I like the hourly table found in the "HOURLY" tab in the local forecast (click "Full Forecast" button)

I use MSW for all my general surf forecasting needs (sorry SI)
Dark Sky app on my phone for very localized wind forecast and immediate and near term impending weather.
and Weather Underground for all things tropical.

    that's it.

Mr. Belmar, this tread is only a stop gap until SI remediates the forecast .. I mean, as you point out, it's all about the forum! Where else would one go for the plethora and diversity of advise found exclusively here??

I mentioned it in the other thread, but windy is pretty awesome. There's so much data and settings. For instance the screenshot you posted..... great. Shows swell and wind. But you can also track low pressure systems and storms if you zoom out. Hell if you got a keen eye you can spot a storm before it even becomes one.

This is actually why i used windy. Last hurricane season i used it to keep an eye on things. The swell data (screenshot you posted) i didn't even know was there until yesterday. Then ofcourse the wind. But yeah, the more i dig in the more i realize what it's capable of. Pretty sweet app. Plus it's fun because your looking for these systems instead of just being told "waves later this week"
