Dear Adnim, What's Wrong With The Forecast?

I have a theory.. What if the National Weather Service (or some other data service) changed the API (Applications Programming Interface) to their weather models and data, and SI has not updated its software?

I saw some changes announced on here:

Some such as

• May 16: SCN19-42: Upgrade of National Water Model Effective: June 19, 2019

• May 9: SCN19-41: Additions and Changes to the NAM nest and HiResW Effective June 12, 2019
• May 7: SCN19-40: Upgrade NCEP Global Forecast Systems (GFS) to V15.1 Effective June 12, 2019
• etc.

Regardless.. someone is asleep at the switch.

The GFS upgrade last week was definitely one thing I considered as a possibility for the issue - but I have no idea if data is even pulled from it for the SI forecast. #graylife

Yeah it looks like the swell data is coming through, but not the wind data.

I think that's messing with the forecasting unicorn magic

 

Pretty sure they brought Micah back as a “consultant” so not only did he sell them the website but he still gets paid to run it. He lets the mods and the fat Texan run the forum.

 

I am seeing gray also. All the wind speeds are 0 miles per hour also.
