State...I surfed a spot down the beach called Old Tanned Lady cause shes there at the same spot every day. Just me and a buddy til a Sup douche paddled down. He didn't last long.
caught some again yesterday evening. textured a bit more than the morning, with more kids getting a front seat view. prolly 7 of us off the side of the pier, but thi to waist hi with some decent lines. took out the 7'2 hog molly fish and spun that thing around all over the place as if there weren't two fins in place. it was a good start to what ended up being a long night of partying a roomie's 30th. good times, and it was only tuesday
2 weeks of offshores in the am , with a decent long board wave , things are looking brighter. A mid ocean low retrograding should produce a ground swell for the mid atlantic . The ITZ zone is waking up also with a Bermuda high helping the cause .
Yes you are! The hype those guys create and their marketing is pretty top notch. Got to commend them on that...whether you, I or anyone else likes it or not, there’s no denying that the softie trend is here in full effect.
soft tops don't bother me none. A bunch of people on soft tops riding summer wind slop and having fun is better than the couple of dudes on short boards trying to win surfing just stewing about the dudes having fun.
small long period swell last few days = fun summer small surf conditions on Delmarva. Few pics from Monday and today:
Got some footage in DE from Tuesday. Plenty clips of Big Wave Dave ripping. Had a freakin smudge on my lens unbeknownst to me. Video came out alright tho. Monday was pretty damn fun here. Wish I brought my set up to film, but I was too busy getting it on with the fins/ surf mat and body surfing.
Dave was out today as well. Could you hear him making his crazy noises while paddling? If you ever have an hour to kill, just ask him if he thinks its possible to surf a tsunami. You wont be sorry!
Caught some fun thigh to occasional waist high glassy waves this morning with 2 other lbs out. Was pleasantly surprised by the sesh. Soft tops don't bother me as long as they stay out of my way. I do judge you if you are on one. Just saying.
Yeah...? How about those same peeps going after every set wave, en masse, and catching them & riding them straight to the shallows? Would bet that you wouldn't stay long in you Ghandi robes during that mess
Maybe, just wondering where i was that i missed out on the change to this new idea of fun. How did this happen? As for marketing surfing, sorry, i don't care. So no, i don't have to commend their bullshit. And as for it being here in full effect, i guess so, if you say so, but again, if that is the new surfing, i can take your lesson in bullshit or i can choose to say no, that sort of thing doesn't interest me, looks like surf camp to me, just not my thing. I'll just drag my useless leg down to the water, go out in excruciating pain, and maybe catch some waves. By myself. Or i won't. Because i can''t. You can relate, correct? Enjoy your softop revolution. I just didn't realize it happened. I'm not extinct. But i am nothing.. And nobody. Happy to be.
I echo your premise (under the radar who gives a shit). Hope your perseverance results in many more waves man...
Thanks, it was more of the same tonight....pure 1-2 foot stoke waves right at the 5:30 low tide. Rode a few on a log I shaped, then set the board on the beach to shoot a few pics and two guys I barely know but who unwisely came without longboards borrowed it and it felt nice to see a board i shaped being ridden by others. Shot a few of everyone having a blast.
took the friday off to keep my sanity. rain all over, but the chop n rides were well worthy. put in at 3rd, got out by the pier. Had some fun rides to shore, but also remember not being on top of my game either last week. nothing out there to ride about it this morning before work. pool noodles are dangerous
