What's the status of Jax beach? Heard they opened it up n ppl got busy. They bout to close it again? Any restrictions being on beach? Charleston bout to make their minds up this week I think
Jax is closed through today as far as I know. Beaches are literally empty. McMasters is going live in about an hour. I recon he will re-open SC beaches this week. That said, The Post and Courier said that everywhere in Charleston from Seabrook Island up to IOP is going to remain locked down regardless of what he says. The rumor is that he will lift current orders, but let the local governments decide how to proceed. Luckily for Hilton Head, the town has no jurisdiction over the beaches, so we have been allowed to be on the beach and in the water. All the town can do is shut down parking and access points. Beaufort County Police could regulate the sand, but they haven't yet and they won't. I split time between HHI and Charleston and the rules have been way more strict up in Chucktown so I don't see Folly or IOP opening up anytime soon. Kiawah and Seabrook have been open if you can get into the gates.
effen dumb. Golf, greenway trail, and lowes all opened and packed in charleston yet we can't go to the beach to surf. Fine with them shutting everything down but the double standard is ridiculous
Surfers are degenerate drug addicts. This is a chance for them to get clean and move on with their lives.
our mayor on folly quoted Jaws the other day. something to the tune of, "well you saw how they reopened the beach with the shark and everybody got hurt. gotta be more precautionary." pretty out there, a top shelf reach kinda remark
Monmouth County NJ parks to open saturday... that should take some pressure of the local spots that have been crowded lately.
Well, after 1 blissful week of open beaches, rumor is that Newsome is going to mandate a shutdown tomorrow. We'll see if that impacts surfing. :/
Why would anyone not feel safe in their own home? It's always a nice place to come back to after a great surf session
