Sand Reconne the day before you paddle into storm swell while not knowing how to swim.

LOL. This hearkens back to my favorite thread ever where a certain swellie admitted he can't swim, and explained how he prepares for big swells :D

... don’t believe anything you read here about living the watermen lifestyle and aboot how great swellyinfo is.
Also, it is very important to keep away from white vans if your going for a solo surf.

Yeah, first tip is, don’t drop in on me.
The second one has to do with abandonment.
    Don’t be that guy...

If this has been posted 3-8 years ago, it would've been roasted for at least 20 pages.

Take a long gander at that what thee hath wrought, moderateurs.

Don't abandon your board just because you don't want to duck dive. And if you must, make sure nobody is anywhere close to you.

Getting real tired of indiscriminate leash use

Yeah. I can't even begin to think how many times, just this summer, I have watched someone just jump off their board when it started to look like it was going to section in front of them. I'm talking 2-3 foot waves. Not even the slightest attempt to kick out properly, and no glance to see where someone on the inside might be paddling out. The leash just starts stretching and you pray it isn't a 15 foot leashed (stretched), or doesn't break, so their 10 foot Waldon Tuflite doesnt cave your head in.
