Gotta love it. Playing around in Baja like a little kid. I'd love to roast one with these dudes.\ http://www.surfline.com/surflinetv/webisodes/peninsula-south_136919 I'd like to cut out a cpl fat lines with Botha too.
This goes to show all the guys that say "youth is wasted on the young"... well ... you're doing it wrong.
That has to be one of the coolest videos I've seen. Great cinematography and sound, plus the vibe. When I grow up I wanna be like Herbie.
Been twice to Cabo San Lucas....way down. Stayed at the Westin Regina. Nice hotel but pricey. Surf was nice, but I don't know the name of the spots--didn't care back then, care even less now.
several times...mostly back in the late 80s when there were no houses and beach access/camping was everywhere. Thumping beach breaks, even when it's small...and then there's san miguel point, longest wave I've ever ridden. Then we drove all the way down to Cabo and back in the late 90s. Lots of empty/perfect breaks along the way...but you pay for it with horrible dirt roads, creepy military stops, etc. Overall, not particularly pleasant - lots of fear and worry. Plus it's just one hell of a long, desolate desert drive that I wouldn't want to do again.
Went once - Never crossing the border again. My buddies used to go a lot. Many stories of corrupt cops.
can be fun up until ensenada...but, after that, it just gets progressively wilder the farther down you go. Now that I think of it, one of the worst things was constantly worrying about making it to the far and few gas stations in time...BRING A GAS CAN!
great video,i always love to see pros smoke weed.ppl are like oh it messes up ur lungs, makes u slow, blah blah blah, nathan still charges big waves....also looks like Nathan is breaking up at the 2:10 mark
I had an old Herbie Fletcher 8'0" single fin step deck my buddy let me store for him while he traveled the desert in search of wisdom. His dad and Herbie were friends from Philly, and it was made custom for Josh. He used to ride it at the Squan. So I had to take real good care of it and not ride it in big surf. It was an awesome waveriding machine, with lots of rocker and forward weight, once it got going it picked up momentum and snowballed through choppy sections and was super stable and maneuverable for a big single fin due to the perfect rocker and rails. And fun on small waves, it would ride anything from knee high to DOH. It sucked when I had to give it back.
"I'll never smoke weed with Willie again, that party's all over before it began. You can pour me some old whiskey river my friend, but I'll never smoke weed with Willie again."
Water Cigarettes? What will they think of next? Earplugs that play music? Phones that you can watch TV on? Crazy.
