I just watched another vid of the Wedge (Jamie O Brians). I love watching vids from the Wedge when its firing, I'll watch them all, Beefs, SoCal, ect.. I have never been, and will never attempt, but love those vids and that wave.
Shipsterns is another holy fock wave I love to watch. That crazy little step? the heaviness?? Like the Wedge, I'm surprised it gets charged as much as it does.
Mavericks, Nazare, Jaws, all awesome... but my favorite is still an extra big day at the Wedge

Yeah I'm a Wedge fan too, particularly the Beefs TV but any JOB vids are immediately bypassed because I'm not a fan.

I also regularly watch the Surfers of Bali videos, I really like the Canggu vids because it looks rippable and has the size and shape that I can relate to.

Also like watching OBSF when it's going off, just such a big perfect wave.

But my favorite vids are the ones with home cooking. That run of swell that Blacks and the La Jolla reefs got from December through February this winter were historically off their nut.

Then there's my local. I can sit and watch that wave for days

Surfers of Bali is great, OBSF is another crazy heavy wave, love those vids.

You don't like JOB kidde? I have mixed feelings, but it's a constant real time look at the N shore in the winter, plus I could watch his girl surf in her butt floss all day long.
I remember a pipe masters where it was him against John John many years ago. It was great, they were trading one heavy wave after another, and I found myself pulling for JOB. John John won though, but it could have went either way. I sort of followed him on the Red Bull channel after that, before his vlogging days.

    good post...agree with all these.

makes me think of another possible related tread topic

for now, wedge is great bc there's a risk like the others. people make good choices and they make bad choices...not sure which one gives me greater pleasure

    on that note....also - ours

I love watching any wave or surfer that makes me audibly go "ugghghhhh". I have an actual hardcopy of a surf video called Black Water or something like that about Chopes. It's old but I still go "Uhhhghh" when that 10ft thick lip pitches over. Peter Mel's wave at Mavs a couple months ago is another one. Shipsterns for that step @Manik mentioned. Jaws, Nazare, any of the big wave spots when they are paddling in. Always gets me amped.

Just as much, I think I like watching good surfers on s*** waves because it's more relatable. Dane Renyolds, Kalani Robb, Mason Ho... those guys make the worst waves look so fun. That said, I'll hit next on any video with one-hit airs all cut together. It's not that I don't like airs though. Italo Ferreira is one dude I could watch do airs all day because he actually links them with turns.

Beefs TV has been front and center on my YT recommendations lately. The wedge is insane. Watching those skimboarders glide into a overhead tube from the beach is awesome. Almost makes me want to try skimboarding... almost :D. Beef's has an aesthetic I really like, great camera work and the peanut gallery on the beach makes you feel like you're there.

On the JOB tangent, something about him makes me want to skip his parts. He reminds me of the dudes around here whose daddy is loaded, never had to stress about $$$ a day in their life, drives an unnecessarily huge truck, all expenses paid trips to waves around the globe, never misses a swell and we know it because their posting on insta 25 times a day. Give almost anyone a house at pipe and an all expenses paid lifestyle and they will eventually figure out the wave. I don't know the dude's actual life story but he seems vapid. To me, he's the spoiled frat boy of the north shore.

I like Beefs TV too. It's just some guys having fun on whatever kind of board they feel like at the moment. The narrator gets a little annoying at times, but it's more relatable then a lot of the edits I see. They don't take themselves too seriously which is refreshing. I don't skim either, but can appreciate those longboard assisted skim take offs. It's a fun watch. Jamie is overly bro'd out for me. He gave it a go as a professional when he was young, but never really made a living on tour. He must get a lot of money from Red Bull or maybe has family money. Not cheap to live on the North Shore and just surf all the time.

I guess thats why they call it the sport of kings, and you hit the nail on the head. Watching people surf those dream waves is alot like watching porn too me. I know I will probly never get to surf any of them and I will probly never bang any of those porn stars. But I am lucky enough to live in the USA, at the beach, have a job and get to surf when I want. Life is good.... Sure the grass is always greener, but my backyard aint so bad.

Damn right I'm jelly of the trips and the lifestyle haha I would be lying if I said otherwise. What I'm getting at is that I'm not interested in watching some rich guy who's always been rich do rich guy stuff. Give me a story where someone earned it on their own, something I can relate to, and I'm 100% more interested.
