Mouth guard - anybody use one?

Just knocked a tooth out surfing after 20 years. It costs about $3,500 2-3 times to have the busted one dug out, bone dust inplanted, temp bridge made and finally the implant at the end is another 5k. Mouthguard sounds Genious!

 

Holy s*** I hope you have the good insurance.

 

I split my face from my bottom lip to my forehead. 6 posts to hold my top of the mouth together bottom wired up and bone graph for my lost front teeth and a bridge. Maxofacial surgeons get paid well.

 

How did that happen?

 

Went deep into a closeout. Thought I'd dive into the wave face and the people I was surfing with told me they saw a turtle surface after the wave and saw me floating in the water. I remember nothing but diving into the wave

Thanks I wish it never happened I think about how unlucky other people have been so Ive been waiting for the right time to tell that experience.
