Waist to chest up here, windy, a little crowded. I couldn't stay out long at all, hopefully some leftovers tomorrow, I have the day off.
Nice little groundswell hung in there pretty much all day yesterday. Had a lot of East in it, so you had to be choosy at my local. But every once in a while a beautiful, clean set would come through. Nice day... water's still pretty warm for November.
Went out Friday Eve with a nice ground swell and off shore. Tide was a bit high but plenty of waves for everyone. Headed back out Saturday afternoon just after low tide and it turned out to be the best day in a while. Clean chest to head and saw lots of better dudes getting barreled which doesn't happen too often here unless there's a storm. Headed back out Sunday and although it was mostly closing out..if you're were patient you could find a gem to catch but I'm not patient and sometimes I need more of the stick and less of the carrot!
Sup guys? I made it out for the first time in maybe 3 weeks this past weekend. Consistent waist high waves coming in with decent push. Haven't been able to post much lately. Got a new job a month ago, got my first ever dog last Tuesday (rescue mutt that kind of looks like a husky named Bandit), and closed on a house today. Can't wait for things to slow down a bit againe.
Nice HH, congrats on the job, dog, and house. Sounds like a lot of good things are going your way, worth missing a session or two. Got out today, small, some waist high left but windy as hell still. Got hung up a lot, then pearled at dead low a couple of times, didn't wax up and my front foot slid out a couple of times, out of position, every kook move but still got a few good ones and was glad to get out anyway. The couple of others out left a little after I got there so I had it to myself for a while. Lots of birds feeding on bait fish, I know the striped bass are running.
dam headhigh, didn't realize we're in the same chapter of our lives. Closed and moved into a house last month, started new job last month, and soon i'll be getting a dog when i get a front fence built. It's been good to be boring around work to nail down every lil thing i wanted inside. Now it's onto the fun stuff, the backyard. Several of us went last wknd, only surf we had for for a month so i feel ya there. Had bout 30 minutes of drifting north up Folly getting a handful of waves before my buddy wrecked into the jetty rocks at Washout, later getting 3 stitches in urgent care. But those waves were fulfilling, really do feel outta sorts mentally when i don't surf for that long. Another upcoming windy wknd shot at waves and the following wknd according to SurfCaptain, which i'm giddy for considering daylight savings time is running up
Heck yea man!! Congrats! Seems we are in the same chapter for sure. Even travelling to the same places haha. Wish we could have linked up in Cali. Next time!!! Thanks @curl !
It's just not the natural order of things. I don't eat shark... I don't kill shark. I'm hoping they feel the same way about me.
I'm not superstitious but something about killing a shark (especially for trophy reasons) irks me. Respect the food chain.
Sup y'all. We have a small system here in FL producing some mediocre waves but I'm happy to get them on a rainy grey day. Surfed for a couple of hours by my lonesome which is fine but all this shark talk got me looking around a bit. Anyhow headed home to change the oil in my Suzuki 650 burgman. It's nice to have an indoor shop with sufficient lighting. Really been enjoying all the surf posts!
Just got out of the water. Super fun chest to shoulder high. I broke out the 4/3 hood, boots and gloves and was still cold when I get home. My son stayed in longer than I did with no hood, boots or gloves and claimed he was fine. I think I'm getting old. Couple of shots from yesterday. Same size today but a little cleaner.
